Re: Fun With Numbers '14-'15: USCHO Posters Poll, Pairwise What-Ifs, and Other Goodie

The predictability of the reaction here whenever someone doesn't bow down to the almighty WCHA is one of the great comforting things in this world.
What does it have to do with the WCHA? A UMD fan wants UMD ranked higher. If it was a team from any other league, that's all it would be. You're the one who turns it into a league thing, because of your deep-rooted case of WCHA envy. Maybe it would be a good thing if BC does win, so you can quit worrying about the WCHA in every other post.

You know what's great about this thread? Folks can express their opinion about who should be ranked where and there is some pretty cool creativity in doing so.

Speaking of great comforting things in this world, cupcakes have to be right up there with WCHA worship.

Absolutely, IMO, the most creative ranking commentary of the year. Nice job. I just wish there was a team for BTO's "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet".

I like the "out of the box" UMD at #4 ranking. It actually makes some sense the more you think about it. But that loss to ND is a blemish that I'm not sure warrants the bold move all the way up to 4, yet. Having said that, UMD is very good.

YES! That is a great song. The CABOOZE baby:cool:
St. Croix Boom Company. I'm biased...as a former bartender. Was owned by Jimmy A who also owned The Cabooze. I started as a bar-back...had to carry cases of beer from the basement coolers up to coolers behind three bars in the joint. We'd carry three cases at a time up a steep set of steps to the main level. My first week I was thrown into the frying pan as the only bar-back with Cranston playing. Bar capacity of about 1000 people. Those Cranston people really put the suds away. Sweat off 12 pounds carrying beer that night. Break the cases down flat at the end of the night...had a couple stacks floor to ceiling. I was made a bartender a week later. I was happy about that. Cranston crowds were excellent tippers as well.

Nevertheless, my opinion...sport. Some opinions are unwelcome I guess.

Your opinion is as welcome as I trust mine is. I simply gave my opinion as strongly as you did. At least that was my intention.

The 'sport' response might not have been necessary in retrospect... I hope.

So what about my opinion indicates I don't appreciate the defensive part of the game then? You don't like sport...yet believe your sarcasm was warranted in response to my honest opinion?

Got it. Sorry. My sarcastic reply wasn't meant to personally attack you. I was aiming at your opinion, not you. "Sport" seems more personal to me but how you intended it is more important.

Having said that, the polls say that the best women's hockey is in Chestnut Hill, MA... which is WEST of Boston. <---- more sarcasm aiming at your opinion.

To imagine the amount of alcohol 1000 people at a Lamont Cranston show in the 70's or 80's could consume would make a contemporary club owner very green (but not with dollars)!!
