Frozen Four 2015 Where do we go from here?

Re: Frozen Four 2015 Where do we go from here?

Don't mean to nitpik, but the Frozen Four hasn't been held in mINNEAPOLIS SINCE the sixties and the old Mariucci.
I just had a thought - they need to go back to Minneapolis so I can get a Jucy Lucy sometime in the next few years.

Rotate St. Paul, Denver, Tampa, and Boston?
Minus Denver....and Boston doesn't want it....

I really think the current process works fine. Let places that want it bid for it. Rotate it around, have some regulars like St. Paul, and throw in some destinations like Tampa and DC.

I tend to agree. This way you know you have people who want the event and want to try to hold it successfully.

Nashville....please make it be Nashville.....
This. This. This. This. :D

How about before figuring out where to play, the NCAA figures out a way to get fans to go. This year's Frozen Four is the least interesting one imaginable, maybe even worse than 2009. Without a marquee program in it, who cares where it's held?
You're right. The nerve of these teams to have the audacity to beat North Dakota, Minnesota, BC, Wisconsin, etc...

Re: Frozen Four 2015 Where do we go from here?

Must have missed the article that discussed their intentions to bid on it for '15.
That depends how good their bid is. If they throw together some half-assed piece of **** bid, like supposedly they have in the past, then do they really want this event? I'd argue that they don't. On the other hand, if they put together a quality bid, and appear to want to embrace the event, and not pull the same **** they did last time, then by all means, Boston should get it.

I have to admit that I don't really have a good comparrison to make about Boston, 2004 was my first F4, so I didn't really think much about it, but they didn't really do a good job, thinking back.

How about Portland?

You're not going to be the major attraction if you go to a major city like New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, and so forth. There's too much other stuff going on, plus why do you really care if the locals know? Is it an ego thing?

Re: Frozen Four 2015 Where do we go from here?

Denver, St. Louis and Milwaukee are bidding. Boston and Detroit are not. Not sure about Nashville or Tampa.

they did a half *****ed job in 2004, unlike 1998 when it was a well done event (from what I remember of the two)...

Re: Frozen Four 2015 Where do we go from here?

wasn't there an article linked earlier stating that Boston WAS bidding?

Maybe he is talking about 2015 since this thread mentions 2015 only in the title but Boston is looking ahead to a different year to bid for?

That's the only thing I can come up with.

The point is that all reports of the last few rounds of bidding was that Boston might have been bidding but they weren't really trying. Boston isn't going to get the Frozen Four just because they bid, without putting forth an effort and actually show they WANT it. I would love to go to a Frozen Four in Boston but as far as anyone could tell since they last hosted, TD Garden hasn't really been that interested in hosting, they may be bidding but recent bids have not been as strong as others...

So your theory is that certain folks in Boston (the TD Garden specifically) want to waste the time of the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau and many others to submit a bid for something they really don't want?
