Frozen Four 2013, Pittsburgh, 2014, Philadelphia

Re: Frozen Four 2013, Pittsburgh, 2014, Philadelphia

Even though the Penn State hockey program is non-varsity, it has a large fan base and has one of the best overall records of any team on campus. Despite the success, the team gets nary a mention in the Centre Daily Times. :(

I'd take the Daily Collegian over the CDT any day of the week.... including Sundays when the student paper doesn't even publish. :)

Cheers ?

Any real Bostonian gave up on that place once the tour buses started to show up.

A) The quote button. Learn it. Love it. No one wants to go back to page 2 to find a post from three days ago you were referencing.

B) The Frozen Four is a tourist event, so no one gives a crap if "any real Bostonian" would go there or not. If the answer is no, it actually makes Cheers a more desirable place to visit.

Agreed -- this story about a former Penn State hockey player is so full of mistakes (factual and grammatical) it makes me wonder if the writer even graduated from high school!

Wow. Nice "fact-checking". The Dayton Gems have never been an ECHL team, and the writer puts them in that league... 4 or 5 times?

Yoi. Yoi. And Double Yoi!!

I think these are two great picks. I enjoy visiting a new city and checking out the vibe. With a chance to see baseball; that is a great opportunity to have a great long weekend.
I am in Denver so whether I go east or west is just part of the journey to see some great hockey. As long as there is an irish pub I am at home in a new city.

Why is everybody so anti-Philly and pro-Pittsburgh? I've been to Philly, never been to Pittsburgh, don't really have the desire to go to Pittsburgh. A bunch of my co-workers were just in Pittsburgh for a convention, I heard it was ok, but nothing great. I've found Philly to be a wonderful city with lots to do...

Philly throws snowballs at Santa Claus, barfs on little kids, and tazes people. Much too threatening.

Pittsburgh has a bunch of rivers that come together to form something with the word "Ohio" in it. Much more exciting. :p

To be fair, they were entirely justified when they threw batteries at JD Drew.

Didn't fans in Minnesota throw batteries at Chuck Knoblauch once? I seem to remember that TK had to go out to the outfield and beg the fans to stop so they could finish the game.

(not that they weren't justified as well)

So should we be scared to go to the X next spring? ;)

I remember there being an issue where he was playing outfield on a Dollar Dome Dog night. I don't know if I'm remembering correctly, but it's a memory...

i'm not sure if Myron would have come to a frozen four...

Ahem... You left out the battery throwing.

Just sayin...

dave parker had a battery or two thrown his way. tiny souvenir bat night also created some projectile tossing.
