You might want to do yourself a favor and change that to a format that a spambot won't pick up. Course, you're probably SOL already.
Yeah, he's probably already getting Mexican donkey porn already.

A quality win tonight. I went to last Friday's game against RPI, and must say we looked pretty good. Scoring seems to be solved, so far at least.

Re: Ferris State University Hockey 2011-2012 - A New Lease On Life

great game. We were a little worried near the end prior to the Alexander ENG. Not sure if it is just Dawg pound bias but it seemed like the refs were out for us tonight.

Re: Ferris State University Hockey 2011-2012 - A New Lease On Life

Quality win. Guys really dominated Miami in the corners and put quality shots on net.

All right. I don't think any of us thought we'd be 6-0 at this point. But here we are.

Let's enjoy this. Really. It's okay. But let's not go crazy quite yet. We're going to Yost next weekend.

Re: Ferris State University Hockey 2011-2012 - A New Lease On Life

I'm really surprised by the goaltending/defense. I knew it'd be something we could fall back on, but Motte has been ridiculous so far this season. It helps when you have the ability to score more than a goal or two per game.

Re: Ferris State University Hockey 2011-2012 - A New Lease On Life

Actually, that was the one piece that I was not concerned about, C J Motte exempted. I didn't know what we had there.

Highly penalized game tonight, but for once I'm not even close to upset about it.

Re: Ferris State University Hockey 2011-2012 - A New Lease On Life

Easily could have had many more penalties called both ways. Miami was clearly frustrated by Ferris' defensive play and really had very few quality chances. Ferris plays rough and gritty, and it is going to wear teams thin. If they can keep this up throughout the year and keep their composure more than the opposing team, I think the Bulldogs can expect to see themselves towards the top of the rankings come season's end.

I've been going to Ferris games for awhile now and this is one of the better all around teams I have seen on the ice. Their defense is outstanding (currently #1 in the country through 6 games), goaltending has been phenomenal (I had heard CJ Motte was highly touted, but 2 shutouts in your first 3 collegiate games? Impressive, to say the least) and they are finding ways to score goals, which is something previous years teams have struggled with. I am slightly concerned about how passive the boys played in the 3rd, though. They played not to lose instead of trying to put the game away. There was a 5:00 minute major for close to the last 5 minutes of the game and you would have never been able to tell that if there wasn't a scoreboard saying so. I think if the team finds that killer instinct, they should have a successful year.

Next week should be a good indicator of where this team is at, playing at Yost.

Be glad the hockey team is good because the football team got whooped on by Grand Valley tonight.

Re: Ferris State University Hockey 2011-2012 - A New Lease On Life

A couple of thoughts from tonight:

-Holy crap, C.J. Motte is the real deal. The kid is a keeper, for sure. Having him and Nelson will be huge this season.

-6-0? Really is amazing. Very solid effort by pretty much everyone on the ice. Very balanced team.

-The student section was the loudest I'd heard it in a while. And we were very angry, because...

-That was some of the worst reffing I have ever seen. I knew that Langseth and Aaron were awful, but they completely and totally failed in trying to control that game. They called nothing in the 1st period, and that led to nothing but cheap shots and fighting the rest of the game. The first 10 minutes of the 2nd period probably took 40 minutes because they were constantly sorting out fights. Worst reffing I've ever seen in the CCHA. Makes me want Shegos even more.

Either way, that was a huge series and a big boost. Team looks really good, hopefully they can keep up this pace throughout the year.

Only good calls were the knee and CFB on Alexander. Everything else, other than Kirzinger getting jobbed, was after the whistle BS that wouldn't have happened if calls had been made in the first place.

Boom. Nailed. Dead-on. I'll be at Yost Thursday night, with tickets in Section 9.

Re: Ferris State University Hockey 2011-2012 - A New Lease On Life

Way to go Bulldogs. Just a guess I'm feeling a #8 ranking possibly higher for the upcoming series vs Michigan. Just great discipline all around bye the bulldogs tonight. Cj Motte played outstanding tonight, and as a freshmen leads the NATION in G.AA not 2 mention back to back shut outs the kids the real deal. Can't overlook Taylor Nelson either he is playing outstanding as well and right now with both of those 2 splinting time is there any other duo better then them? I understand it is really early in the year but i am drinking the Bulldog Kool-Aid! Maybe not the most talented team but they just work so hard and are so good position wise that they just seem to have the killer in-stink to win hockey games. Watch out for #12 as well T.J Schuelter(forgive me for my spelling) great hands and just a hard nose player. Big series with Michigan upcoming at Yost. Can we sweep the Wolverines..Yes..At Yost we will...I hope so but..I'm feeling a split and i would be happy with that.

Knapp and Reichard are still known entities when it comes to the post-season. Both were outstanding this weekend, but got hung out to dry by the RedHawk defense a little too much.
