As for Kirzinger, he was eligible to dress for tonight's game. He was given a game misconduct, not a disqualification. His scratch tonight was at Daniels' discretion.
Now, once OT is over, the NCAA recognizes the game as a tie. The shootout only affects CCHA standings.
Actually, the CCHA 'benched' Kirzinger due to this being his third game misconduct. At least that is what Dom announced on the radio during the game.
That would be a pretty nice set up to do if they could pull it off. It would be easier to get them to get both Sparty and Michigan up to the Van Andel for a weekend than it would be to get them to K'Zoo and Big Rapids in the future. Personally, I would like to see them both in my home barn every so often if I'm FSU or WMU, but that would be a nice stop gap there. Then you would just have to figure out some weekend to have it on.I've mentioned previously how I think a four game showcase featuring Ferris vs. State and Western vs. U of M on Saturday and then Western vs. State and Ferris vs. U of M on Sunday at the Van Andel would be pretty nifty. Throw it on "Hockey Weekend in Michigan" and get all four schools two non-conference games, split the gate revenue and get the Big Ten Network to put it on the tube.

Ah. I stand corrected. The NCAA rulebook does call for a suspension upon a 3rd game misconduct.
It'll be interesting to see how Michigan's travel situation shakes down. Right now they travel for less than one non-conference series per year, but that model probably won't be sustainable when they have more non-conference games available with the BTHC schedule. Additionally, UM has not shown the commitment to other Michigan schools that Michigan State has with their scheduling agreements with the MAC schools in football and olympic sports.
Well, no offense but sparty is at your level. We are not, although Michigan does schedule MAC teams (it's just in the big revenue sports they are always at Michigan for ecomical reasons).
What level is that? CCHA Champions?
