Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

Re: Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

Hey Guys,

How's the summer going?

I just picked up a MacBook Pro laptop and installed Final Cut on it for Video Editing. Over the summer, I contacted the television companies that ran Ferris State Hockey and had DVD's of the games sent to me. My goal is to create highlights of each game for archives. So far I have two games done:

The first one I created was on my old PC in a trial version of Adobe Premiere of the Ferris State vs. Michigan game on January 23rd when the 'Dawgs won in the final minute: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq70FxIvDWA

The second one, I just created on my new MacBook Pro with the real edition of Final Cut. The video is thin, but that is the way I got it from FSN Detroit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcyVC3qfawI

Depending on funding, I am hoping to get Post Game Video Highlights of most of the games this year. Let me know what you think so far.

Dom

The first one was great. I just couldn't bring myself to watch the 2nd one once I knew which game it was. You just had to go and bring that up again, didn't you?

Lol Hammer, I'm going off television games. Check our Television record this year, I don't have much to pick from. And since the Northern game was shot on Fox Sports Detroit High Definition...I thought that would be a good one to pick:

November 13th, 2009: Ferris State @ Miami (Ohio) Win 3-2 SO - NHL Network
November 14th, 2009: Ferris State @ Miami (Ohio) Win 2-1 SO - Ohio News Network
January 22nd, 2010: Ferris State @ Michigan Loss 2-0 - CBS College Sports
January 23rd, 2010: Ferris State @ Michigan Win 3-2 - CBS College Sports
January 29th, 2010: Ferris State @ Ohio State Loss 5-3 - Big Ten Network
February 6th, 2010: Northern Michigan @ Ferris State Loss 4-0 - Fox Sports Detroit
February 20th, 2010: Ferris State @ Michigan State Loss 3-2 - Big Ten Network
March 19th, 2010: Northern Michigan @ Ferris State (Joe Louis) Loss 5-4 OT - Fox Sports Detroit HD

The Miami series I have not tried to get yet. Can't make highlights of the 2-0 loss vs. Michigan. Made highlights of the 3-2 win vs. Michigan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mnuu3laSBhk. Cannot get Big Ten Network games, they want me to purchase "The Rights" to the games for something like $200 a minute. Cannot make highlights of the 4-0 loss vs. Northern Michigan on Fox Sports Detroit. And made highlights of the 5-4 loss in overtime vs. Northern: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNFHIrkmfOo .

I have all the games that were televised on Ferris TV and all the other games except Big Ten Network. I will try to get Miami series this week. Those will be two huge additional highlight reels to have.

Last year?

The Ferris Football team. They do miss Ashland and Wayne State this year, and have Tiffin, Ohio Dominican, and Lake Erie all on their schedule, who will all be in a dogfight to stay out of the cellar. Easily 3 wins at least for Ferris, maybe a 4th.

He's bumping his gums about football. Ignore him.

Should you Hammer?? If the BTHC happens, just how does Ferris State's Athletic Department plan on paying the bills?? Tough choices are going to need to be made then, and the better they prepare themselves now, the better off they're going to be when College Hockey Armageddon happens.

You are right Hammer, this is the "Ferris State HOCKEY 2009-10" chat room, but I don't mind anything Ferris State. But at least let us know your transitioning BigMRG74 lol!

Ferris State 21
(15) Saginaw Valley 17

Heck of a win there for Ferris.

Re: Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

Nice videos! I stopped watching the NMU game about 30 seconds in though. Just couldn't do it, but I understand why you picked it.

Re: Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

I didn't even get that far. I thouroughly enjoyed the first one, but there was no way I was watching what happened at the Joe.

Re: Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

Will Ferris State be providing audio or video broadcasts for their opening games at UAH?

Re: Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

If they continue last year's practices, I suspect that the answer is no. It's not a CCHA contest, and it's not a home game.

Expect a new season thread by the end of the week.

Yes, I will have the Play-by-Play for the UAH games on 1460am and 107.7fm WBRN, as well as online at: http://161.57.5.17/ramgen/broadcast/test.rm (Must have RealPlayer installed)

Quote from www.FerrisStateBulldogs.com:

"WBRN (1460 AM & 107.7 FM) is slated to air the men's ice hockey contests this upcoming season which comprises the entire regular-season schedule and Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) playoffs. Dominic Hennig will serve as the announcer for Bulldog hockey broadcasts for the second consecutive year. Selected contests may be moved to Big Country WWBR-FM (100.9) when scheduling conflicts arise."

Re: Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

Oh, good. Then they did change their practices. That's another good move by the university. In the past, with the prior broadcaster, they did the home games and road CCHA games only, and only on weekends. So if they were playing Michigan State at home on a Tuesday night, we were SOL (that caused me to direct an unfriendly email to Mr. Kirinovic one season not too long ago).

Hey Hammer,

I think that was because Bill Beckwith's real job was the morning show talk show host on Big Country 100.9fm. So he wouldn't go on trips during the week, or long trips because he would miss his morning show work.

I will call all the games this year on the radio including the minnesota tournament, with the exception of the Alaska series because it wouldn't start until 11:05pm in Big Rapids and would have few listeners.

Re: Ferris State Hockey 2009-10 - 2 minutes for slashing

I'm not going to blame anyone for not going to Alaska.
