Ferris State Hockey '10-11-Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the penalty box

Re: Ferris State Hockey '10-11-Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the penalty

bigmrg74 should restart his brain to combat his moronic posts.:p

Facts don't lie.

LSSU has lost students attending the school. While at lot of other schools have added a lot more to their enrollement, LSSU has fallen. Hell, even Ferris over the past 10 years has managed to pretty much add an entire LSSU to their campus. And its not like there's been less kids going to college durning that time period. So tell me where did those enrollement numbers go BJR??

Re: Ferris State Hockey '10-11-Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the penalty

For those of us who "live and die" for our favorite college hockey team, there comes a time when that is secondary. And that time came to Pioneer fans this weekend.
GRAND FORKS, N.D. — University of Denver center Jesse Martin sustained three neck fractures in Saturday night's hockey game at North Dakota and was transferred to a Minneapolis hospital this morning where doctors are deciding if emergency surgery is required to relieve swelling of the spinal cord, the player's father said.

Miami is probably the worst number one team I have ever seen. They play an undisciplined, unskilled brand of hockey that is more reminiscent of Slap Shot than college hockey.

Ferris State University Bulldogs defeated #1 Miami Redhawks 3-2 last night.

i didn't watch it and have no insight, but nicely done. keep 'em coming.

Re: Ferris State Hockey '10-11-Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the penalty

Bulldogs get a nice shootout win tonight. Miami puts 37 shots on goal and Nagle only gives up one -> pretty awesome. In my mind the most impressive thing about the night was that they did it without team captain Redmond. That being said I thought Miami controlled most of the game and probably deserved to win. The ferris forwards need to cut down on the turnovers and find a way to get more puck possession time in the offensive zone. Good series - Keep the intensity up for next week and keep the wins coming.

I agree with you. Nagle stood on his head 2night especially in the 2nd period i believe the redhawks had 17-18 shots on net, and the ladder half of the 3rd period as well as overtime. Not sure which MU player shot it but the save late in the game was similar to Knabulins save last night just getting a glove on it. The puck possession will come as the season goes on, Miami is number one for a reason well was number 1 was a reason and thats because they pressure the puck so much. Good to get that stretch out of the way with Michigan and Miami ill take 7 out of 12 pts vs those teams any day of the week. As for Miami they are so skilled with that top unit not to mention Cannone who played well this weekend this could light a fire under them even more and get them going some what.

Re: Ferris State Hockey '10-11-Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the penalty

Leaving this series with 5 points is about as perfect of a result as you can result. Nagle looked great, as did the penalty kill. Good crowd on Saturday to with it. The one FSU goal was such a surprise that hardly anyone saw it. Offensive unit still needs work, and the powerplay SUUUUUUCKED, but everything else was excellent.

I agree. I've seen Nagle play some great games through out his career, but that one ranks near the top. The falling back glove save in the OT was just incredible.

As for the PP sucking listed above I agree. I do not like that 1st PP unit one bit! Hennig, Bonis, and Schmit all together? Seriously?

Losing Redmond for a couple weeks hurts, but hopefully he will be back sooner!

Hennig and Bonis have been playing well, Schmit is a good asset to have in front of the net, both PPs just need puck possession and good breakouts, looks like the Breakouts have been sloppy leading to turnovers in the neautral zone.

I agree they have been playing well, and deserve some time out there if they are putting up points, but on the other hand maybe it's too much. All 3 were in and out of the lineup last year. Schmit didn't even play offense. I would like to see a few switch ups with guys on the PP, and see if something sticks. Maybe something like Kirzinger, Ouellette, and Hennig? I don't know I guess, because I don't see practice, and know some guys probably have no right to be on the PP.

It kills me that the captain always seems to get hurt in their senior year. Redmond, Chupp, Welch. Hopefully it's short term though.

Re: Ferris State Hockey '10-11-Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the penalty

Miami is a good team. They may have not won this weekend but there puck movement in the offensive zone and on the PP is good. I know now why they are at the top of the rankings every week. They are a legit team. But dont get me wrong i am a huge Bulldog hockey fan and i loved every second of beating Miami this weekend
