EZAC??? I think not!!!

Re: EZAC??? I think not!!!

Good luck Quin at the frozen four. I had a feeling Union having to play til fn midnight last night would leave them starting flat tonight. Great scheduling NCAA!!
Ummm..... hasn't Union like played on back to back nights every weekend all season?? Suck it up cupcake!!!!

Re: EZAC??? I think not!!!

Oh so now it's the schedule's fault? Next I bet you'll be blaming the refs for actually calling dirty play.
They did play late, but only three hours later than QU. Also, with the whipping they put on BC, they didn't exactly have to exert full effort that last period.

The time took a bit of a toll, but not to the extent that the Q whupped their arse. That was a schooling, through and through.

Yeah but 7:00 starts and none of the pressure, press crap, and every other distraction of the tourney!! They probably didnt hit there hotel beds until 1:00 and were so fired up after knocking off the defending champs that they didnt sleep very much, would you? Oh yeah, like you would have any clue. I remember the night we clinched our first ever division 1 playoff spot on a night I made 52 saves and we beat Brown 3-2 on the road. None of us slept well that night and you could see everyone dragging their asses the next day.

Re: EZAC??? I think not!!!

I try not to get into these debates, but the only thing I will say in response to fishman... Your beliefs are entirely incorrect, i would say 95% percent of ivy hockey players are playing some form of tuition and 75% are paying full tuition. I do not think the ECAC has a right to compare itself with the history and success of other conferences, but it makes me cringe when people use comments such as fishman, because whether they are the best hockey players or not, these kids are very bright kids who also happen to have a skill in hockey.

My point was that things apparently have changed in the past 10-15 years or so...

I personally know 3 kids who were recruited (and played) the very obscure sport of D-3 football at Union. They all were from upper middle-class families, and they all paid less tuition than they would have, had they attended a SUNY school. (Much less, and none of them were Mensa-material, believe me.)

I don't have a problem with that at all. I like a level playing-field, and when else does a Union or a Q get on national TV, or even a Yale?

Good for them- and I mean that -but let's just call a spade a spade here... There are fewer putative Ivory-Towers than there once were, clearly.

I love how this gets neg rep from a fan of a team whose coach has been suspended twice for complaining about the refs, and even spent last year female-dogging about them in Denver. I'd address it there, but there's this little message of "You must spread..."

For the record, it wasn't me, a-hole though I am. :)

Now that Gwoz is probably on his way to an ECAC team, you guys might have a claim at being the best league in the country. :DCalm the f down. It's a joke!

I know it wasn't you. I know who it was, and the person didn't even need to post it. ;)

Wait - Union made the playoffs before the ECAC instituted the Union rule? I'm going to have to call shenanigans. :p
