I doubt anything bad happened to him. Long established posters leave this site all the time, and with the impending doom and gloom of a really bad Bucky team on the horizon, he probably just left while the getting was good.

COuld be. I've taken six- or seven-month breaks from USCHO and GPL before. It happens.

Hope so.

Getting excited for Surly Darkness Day. One of the few Surlys that I really like. Actually going to this started as a half-joke between bbdl/Mrs bbdl, and I. Then we figured, "Why not? Haven't done something like this before..."

Should be interesting.

Yeah... that would probably seem like a reasonable thing to do from a St. Cloud fan's perspective. :p:)


No fair weather fan here. Lurking from time to time... just haven't had anything to say lately.

A few people had that at Surly (MN) Darkness Day last weekend. I declined, due to it being an IPA, and knowing Founders' beer quite well.

That being said, I should mention that Darkness Day (when the Russian Imperial Stout known as Darkness is released) was awesome.

Basically, the night before is a beer festival, with no organizers. You set up your spot, with beer to share. Share beer. Camp out. Next day, you get up to 6 bottles of Darkness (and this year, 1 bottle of Barrel Aged Darkness!).

Had many rarer beers, including 3 Floyds Dark Lord, etc. Lots of Pliny The Elder was there, and other regional stuff. Met people from CA, CO, CT, IA, WA, MI, WI, IL, and some other states.

The Nein COULD be there (smoked Hefeweizen, came out recently, and not THAT hard to find in the Mpls area). Good luck on Darkness. And an angel would have to deliver a barrel-aged Darkness. Rumor is only 1500 bottles are hitting the outside market. The other 1500 were sold at Darkness Day.

Yes, I have one. :D
