Just cracked a Wake Up Dead Nitro from Left Hand Brewing.... Wow...
It's very creamy, but it let's you know that it's a 10.2% ABV.... Strong licorice notes over the chocolate....

Went beer hunting today, expecting to hit up 2-3 stores to get what I wanted. Well, that was very unnecessary, as my store had all I needed:
Surly Nein: 3 bottles. one to have, probably tomorrow during the Vikes game, save the other two
Deschutes XXVII: got their last 2 bottles. Will save both, since I tasted it at the ABR
Alesmith Speedway Stout: will have one in a couple months, save the other one; had it at ABR also
Had a chance to try Pliny The Elder, and I have to admit, it wasn't bad at all. I only had a couple ounces, but honestly, that was the perfect amount for me.
Ballast Point Dead Ringer (Oktoberfest Marzen): phenomenal. I could drink that all night.
Also tried a Millstream Barrel-Aged beer, but cannot remember which one it was. I believe it was the stout, and that also was amazing.

Very Mad Cow by Revolution Brewing
Very impressed with this offering from Revolution... It's their Milk Stout aged in Woodford Reserve barrels... I like how the sweetness of the beer interacts with the whisky flavors... This is enough to keep coming back to Revolution Brewing... They've been around the Chicago area for a few years now and have been gaining popularity... Kinda nice to be in on the ground floor with them...

Checking out their site, you pretty much have to go to IL to get it, or have someone bring it to you. Best bet would be someone coming up for the hockey tourneys in March, and arranging something.

Correct... Still limited to the Chicago and NW Indiana area... Their Anti-Hero IPA is pretty easy to find in places that offer more than the common macro brands... It is a limited quantity when you get into their specialty stuff though... Most of it is also 22oz bottles vs cans & 6-packs... If you come into town for the Frozen Four next year, it won't be too difficult to find their selections...
Also of note, we're finally getting Surly down this way, although not the full assortment I'm sure... Picked up a 4-pack of Bender... I'll gladly trade some Revolution for Surly if we ever cross paths DX....

Today, after the marathon, I've enjoyed Surly Furious and Insight Troll Way. The person I talked to at the liquor store last night wholeheartedly recommended the Furious.

Surly's Nein is out. If you come across it, buy it. Limited release, smoked Hefeweizen. Don't drink it for a few months, though. I had one last night, it's really smoky. Let it age and mellow, then drink it.

My main store has it year-round. That's how much they buy.
