I'm outraged. Turns out the "human toilet brush" has had some foreign investments. Shocking. And she ain't the only one, either.
She's not a candidate for here???what a horrible face! There oughta be a decency law against linking to stuff like that. Or I could print it out and hang it up in the yard to scare away zombies and mountain gorillas. Just in case.
The worst part is when she opens her mouth and starts talking. Oh, the stuff that comes out of that mouth is just beyond me.

Interesting read on how the number of teachers has doubled since 1970 while the student population has only increased 8.5%. In that time test scores have remained flat. It we were to go back to the same number of teachers as then the country would save save $210B.
Who said anything about test scores? The question is why there are so many more teachers per pupil, period. This kind of article draws easy conclusions, but needs some further analysis.
First, there's a lot more kids in public schools these days for whom English is not their primary language. This adds a strain onto the system a lot more so than 40 years ago. A good example from here was when my alma mater was hired to run an urban school system in the state. 10 years on some naysayers were spouting off about how test scores were flat over that time. What the university correctly responded was that the scores for kids who remained in the system for all 10 years were up a good amount. The problem was when kids cycled in that weren't native English speakers. You had to educate them, but until they became proficient their test scores obviously lagged.
Bzzzzzt. US population density in 1990: 70.3 per sq. mi., and in 2000: 79.6.Next I also have to think suburbanization might be jacking up costs. Not sure if busing and the like is included here but even if it isn't thriving urban neighborhood schools are almost a thing of the past as the population has moved out and spread out. This is also adding to staffing and costs.
