Re: Elections 2012 -- Kull Wahad!!!

not at all. I'm saying the Republicans are almost just as bad, and we have every reason to expect them to be more classy than the Democrats. It's disappointing that they've fallen into the same hole.

In the same way that we should be able to expect the Republican candidate to be more conservative, when in reality either one would spend just as much.
So you're saying the Dems are worse, but because you don't expect anything better from them, you're voting for them. Huh.

So Obamas Transportation Secretary claims Lexus built one of their Hybrid Luxury SUVs because of Obamas cafe standards, Obama in office for 3.5 years, Lexus has been building this particular Hybrid since 04, what a dope

Does any one ever tell the truth in DC, Does anyone in DC know the truth?
What is truth?
Is truth unchanging law?
We both have truths
Are mine the same as yours?

Re: Elections 2012 -- Kull Wahad!!!

So, on that basis, it would roughly move like that under either Romney or Obama, as you've laid this out. So, you agree with me.
What I've been trying to argue is that I think revenue is due for a significant increase for systemic reasons. I thought you had written that you didn't expect revenue to change much comparing now to the future. If what you were saying was you didn't expect revenue to change much comparing future under Obama to future under Romney, then yes, I think we agree.

uh, yeah. I guess. At least they won't disappoint.
I'll leave open the possibility of changing my mind if, for example, some obscure website comes up with an essay about how Obama's birth certificate might be forged or something. Or if Romney makes an inspiring speech. I'm not all that committed yet.

I take it you've been in a coma since 1994?
no, I was clear that they have not lived up to those expectations since forever. That was what "ought to be" not what is.

Yes, the second is what I was saying. So to me any substantive differences between the two candidates are likely to be on the spending side of the ledger.

Do you see "Mitt" Romney agreeing to any meaningful cuts to the budget that will set the budget on a correction course?

So why are you under the impression that you have to choose either of them? You're like the whiny little ***** that feels she has to choose between the cynical ******* that gives great sex, and the nice guy that gives nothing in bed.

I don't think either Romney or Obama will cut the budget to the point where it's on a more sustainable trajectory, but I think that with Romney there is a little more chance of making some amount of headway, if for no other reason than there are Tea Party folks and others (like Jeff Flake from AZ) that will push the spending issue in a way it won't get much push on the Dem side if they are in power.

I think it's a wash on the spending side, too. Neither side is going to touch social security or Medicare. Obama will keep things like unemployment benefits and environmental protection off the table while Romney will keep the military budget and corporate welfare (I know -- same thing) off the table.

None of this is to say I don't think there are substantive economic differences. I think Obama's policies will be much better for education and the middle class long-term, which is where productivity, competitiveness, and job growth come from. Romney will just accelerate the slide towards plutocracy we've been on since the early 80's. I think the record since that time shows unambiguously how bad Romney's policy preferences are for the long-term health and stability of the country.

Did he really say he was outspent in the 08 campaign?
