Elections 2012.2 - Congressional and Gubernatorial

Re: Elections 2012.2 - Congressional and Gubernatorial

he won't, but if romney won i would have expected him to run the country reasonably and forget all that tea party bs he was whispering in their ear to get them energized and get him the nomination.

i can't fault someone for having to lie his *** off to get a nomination off the "one man-one woman" wacko party.

Are you going to keep spouting Dem talking points tomorrow when the election is over? Or do we get at least a short break before you start pumping Biden or Hillary for 2016?

That depends on if we win or lose Bob! If we win I'm declaring a month long siesta to coincide with all the illegal aliens we plan on giving amnesty to and then in an unrelated move registering them as Democrats....

If we lose we're trashing the place "Roger Daltrey style".

Re: Elections 2012.2 - Congressional and Gubernatorial

I never missed your point. I just thought it made little sense and showed little knowledge of the candidate in question. Tried to give you a way out, but you doubled down instead.

I got plenty of knowledge. He's not a fiscal conservative which means his entire platform is a smokescreen and he flops like a Romney. That's plenty for any intelligent voter to know he's not worthy of the Senate.

Re: Elections 2012.2 - Congressional and Gubernatorial

And here's Capt. Gridlock himself with his balanced approach to governing.

"We’re not raising taxes on small-business people," Boehner said. "Our majority is going to get re-elected ... We’ll have as much of a mandate as he will — if that happens — to not raise taxes."

I bet he signed the pledge.

Re: Elections 2012.2 - Congressional and Gubernatorial

The problem with that is that we dont know when he is lying....

how is that a problem?

beyond george washington, the only president i can safely guess who never lied is jimmy carter. ergo, lying is good.

If you could get Scooby to commit to join your month long siesta, that's a mighty tempting reason to vote for Obama! :D

Re: Elections 2012.2 - Congressional and Gubernatorial

I'm pretty sure Coolidge was a straight shooter also...
And what about Honest Abe? Oh, that's right, he's was a Republican. He probably even signed a pledge or two.

Re: Elections 2012.2 - Congressional and Gubernatorial

Because a Republican in 1860 would be a Republican in 2012?
He'd be, what, like 200 years old or something? Don't think he'd care what party he is at this point. But, history tells us he was a Republican. People mention Carter, but the Dems of today are very different in many ways than the Dems back then. You can make the claim that the vast majority of past presidents are different than where their party is now.

Re: Elections 2012.2 - Congressional and Gubernatorial

I think Abe was too busy hunting vampires to sign any pledges.

Re: Elections 2012.2 - Congressional and Gubernatorial

Sure. He destroyed the United States by winning that war. The wrong side won. There's no question that history bears that out.
Foreign interventionists then and now, those adventurous Republicans! If only Abe hadn't listened to the neocons!

As per the huskyfan school of terrible history.

And Christie is on the way out, it has begun!

This was exactly my point. Same goes for Jefferson or Jackson...they are both considered "Democrats," yet there is no way in the world that they would be Democrats today.

Whoever this nut is, he's actually right, it is a socialist policy for the government to essentially set the price of a good. However, it's a very justifiable one in this case. In true capitalism, the limited number of gas stations that can operate would be able to jack up prices according to demand. Which is why the United States is not a true capitalist society.

Sadly, I doubt JFK would be considered a Democrat today either:
> big tax cut to spur the economy
> encouraged volunteer activity, not compulsory
> strongly anti-Communist
