Could the committee leave out both RIT and Elmira in favor of a west team though?

History (2005-2006) has shown that if either Elmira or Plattsburgh (Elmira) is beaten by some team (Utica, 4-1), preventing Elmira and Plattsburgh from playing each other in the ECAC-West finals, the NCAA will take the team that lost in the semis (even though they lost 2 of 3 games to said team) and pit them against the winner (Plattsburgh) of the ECAC-West tournament in the first round of the NCAA's. I point this out just for your information (not that we are bitter (well, not anymore than usual) here in Utica).More than likely RIT needs to win the whole thing IMHO to assure a bid.
The committee MIGHT give RIT the bid over Elmira if they really spank them in the semis and then play a tight game with Plattsburgh, but even then, it'd still be close. Head to head would be a wash with each team being 1-1-1.
It'd come down to SOS and record against ranked teams etc.
While I think RIT can finally beat Elmira I'm not sure that they can beat Plattsburgh. I kinda hope I can make it up there this weekend to see the games.
When does the ECAC West announce their regular season all-ECAC teams and POTY, ROTY, and COTY? I would think it would be soon?
PS. Moberg for Ms.HOBEY.
Okay...it's Elmira and Platsburgh...who's got the tale of the tape?? How manytimes have they met in the final? What's their records?

Great job as always.
oh how i miss the days of actually writing those, not just delegating someone else to write them as i do now lol
Great job as always.
Well except for not including any quotations from RIT players or coaches.

Didn't get any from Utica's coaches or players either.
It was a student reporter. I'd say they did a pretty darn good job for covering two hockey games and getting quotes without the ability of a press conference.
Plus you have to think about how many inches or words was his story supposed to be? Sometimes there just isn't enough space.
no inch or word counts really because its for our web edition. as a rule, i tell our guys and girls 900 or less. i know in the print world that would never fly, but it makes our web coverage more comprehensive at least. our preview stories that run in print are typically 600 or so.
