2010 ECAC West Women's Hockey Tournament Tickets

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (March 1, 2010) -- The Plattsburgh State Athletic Department has announced ticket procedures for the Eastern College Athletic Conference West Division Championship Tournament held this weekend at the Stafford Ice Arena. The per-day admission price is $5 for adults and $3 for students/children. The first 200 SUNY Plattsburgh students with valid College identification will be admitted free. The tickets will be sold on game-day at the Field House Box Office. All seats are general admission.

The conference semifinals are scheduled for Saturday at 4 and 7 p.m. and finals on Sunday at 3 p.m. The host and regular-season champion Cardinals will play either Neumann or Utica in the early game on Saturday while Rochester Tech and Elmira will do battle in the second semifinal.

LiveStats for all three games will be available at http://www.sidearmstats.com/plattsburgh/whockey/index.htm. Complete radio and videostreaming information will be released when details have been finalized.

Re: ECAC-West Tournament 2010

If there's anyone yet to book a hotel for up here in platty this weekend GET ON IT!! NCAA men's basketball first and second rounds being played here Friday and Saturday. Three basketball teams and three hockey teams plus extra travelers up here this weekend. Happy room finding!

Re: ECAC-West Tournament 2010

no..and I'm fairly certain RIT has never made it.

Three teams from one conference have never made it.

However, RIT has made it. They lost in the ECAC East finals to Manhattanville in 2007 and then lost to an upstart Amherst team 2-1 in the NCAA Quarterfinals.

That was Nagymarosi's year at RIT and she posted 32 goals and 29 assists with Isabelle Richard.

RIT's 3-2 head-to-head win over Elmira more than likely clinched the at-large bid for the Tigers over Elmira that year. That's the only year Elmira hasn't made the NCAA Tournament.

Nagymarosi was not dressed for that NCAA quarter-final against Amherst, as I believe she was deemed academically ineligible by the NCAA.

Re: ECAC-West Tournament 2010

Can RIT get into the NCAAs by beating Elmira but losing to Plattsburgh? Could the NCAAs use an RIT win over Elmira but loss to Plattsburgh as the perfect excuse to get more West teams in this year?

While I think RIT can finally beat Elmira I'm not sure that they can beat Plattsburgh. I kinda hope I can make it up there this weekend to see the games.

Re: ECAC-West Tournament 2010

When does the ECAC West announce their regular season all-ECAC teams and POTY, ROTY, and COTY? I would think it would be soon?

PS. Moberg for Ms.HOBEY. :D

More than likely RIT needs to win the whole thing IMHO to assure a bid.

The committee MIGHT give RIT the bid over Elmira if they really spank them in the semis and then play a tight game with Plattsburgh, but even then, it'd still be close. Head to head would be a wash with each team being 1-1-1.

It'd come down to SOS and record against ranked teams etc.

Could the committee leave out both RIT and Elmira in favor of a west team though?
