100 tickets! You beat me by 95. I prefer to let the machine do it too. One can't help trying to create some type of pattern for manual tickets. Trying to do it 100 times would be frustrating. I'd prefer not to do even 5. I do wonder how the machines generate random numbers though. Back in comp sci classes, I recall learning that computers couldn't generate them.

What i found interesting after buying the tickets is that even with that number, certain numbers picked by the machine came up very frequently. others only once or not at all. More interesting was that the of the winning numbers, 2 were on my 'not at all' list. Hard to win much when the machine picking 100 times misses those numbers. My results were of course a small sample and with all those numbers i was bound to have a couple numbers not picked, but you wonder a bit when 2 of the 3 numbers that were not picked at all were winning numbers. What did i learn from all of this? Nothing that i did not already know. The odds are just too great unless you want to just throw some money away. One other thing I learned, you get the same $4 if you pick the PB ball that you get if you pick the PB ball and 1 other number with it. Seems to me, you should get something extra when you pick that one extra ball.

We have a tie at the top of the leader board between hawthr and Keplers pre-season predictive model of the standings TBRW (see TBRW.com). Last weeks leader jmhusker and 2nd place contestant Ralph Baer have dropped to 3rd and 4th. It was not a good weekend for RPI or DrDemento as he melted down from 4th to a tie in 11th. Lucky for him his better half JennyRN sank from 9th to 17th. The Random Number continued its fall to 59th while Mr Last Year popped up into a tie at 11th. The Fan Average rocketed into a tie for 26th, The Coaches inched down one to 41st while The Media is up to 16th. No matter what happens at the top, skating away with last place glory is ColSkate65 by a wide margin.

Taking over sole possession of the top spot in the contest is Keplers pre-season predictive model of the standings TBRW (see TBRW.info). Last weeks co-leader hawthr has dropped into a tie for 5th. While last week was not good for DrDemento, this week is even worse as he has sunk into a tie for 17th while his better half JennyRN has overtaken him and now sits in a tie for 14th with Mr Last Year and yours truly. The Fan Average continues to climb up the ladder and is now in 21st. The Coaches inched up one to 40th while The Media has cracked the top 10 in a tie for 10th. The Random Number is now making a run on last place and sits in 62nd only 124 points ahead of ColSkate65.

Only 2 weeks are left in the regular season and there are still a lot of contestants in the running for the win. Can TBRW or some other contestant make a run at Red Clouds 2005-2006 record low point total of 26? Stay tuned.

I have a score under 100 yet I'm 45th out of 63 participants? When did the ECAC standings become predictable?

With 1 week to go in the ECAC season and in our contest, Keplers pre-season predictive model of the standings TBRW (see TBRW.info) continues in the lead. Things are not looking good for DrDemento as he sinks lower in the contest into a tie for 20th while his better half JennyRN has moved into a tie for 9th. I wonder if Jenny gets a bonus gift for a top 10 finish?? The Fan Average drops to 27th. The Coaches drop 2 to 42nd while The Media drops out of the top 10 and now sits in a tie for 13th. The Random Number along with Rjm7272 are battling ColSkate65 for last.

Look for the crowning of the winner of this seasons contest next Sunday AM :cool:.

And just a reminder folks, sometime next Saturday night or Sunday morning the ECAC PICK THE PLAYOFFS contest thread will be up and running awaiting your picks :) .

Vic: You know my Jenny. She is a tough competitor. We have our usual bet for the season but she bought something for me Friday night at an auction that I cannot hope to even come close getting even with her. BTW she was wearing the two pins your wife made for her along with the entire ECAC collection (from those years). Hope we all will be doing this for many years to come.

Another ECAC Regular Season is in the books. Congrats to Quinnipiac on their 2nd straight Cleary Cup.

And now it is with great pleasure I announce that jmhusker has won the 2015-2016 ECAC Pick The Standings Contest. In addition, the 24 points is the lowest total in the history of this contest breaking Red Clouds 26 point winning total in 2005-2006. Last weeks leader, TBRW (see TBRW.info), fell way down into a tie for 22nd.

In our contest within a contest, JennyRN once again beats out Dr Demento, this time by 6 points.

The Fan Average rose to 14th. The Coaches drop 1 to 43rd while The Media dropped 3 spots into a tie for 16th. The Random Number along with Rjm7272 put up a good fight but ColSkate65 is this years last place winner (or loser depending on which way you want to look at it).

Some other STATS:
Colgate cost the contestants the most number of contest point by far with an average of 23.05. RPI with 13.75 and Clarkson with 11.62 pts were the other teams in double digits.
goldenbriggsy was the contestant that picked the most correct team finishes in the standings with 7. Colgate and RPI were his downfall. As a matter of fact, if he had switched those 2 teams in the standings he would have won easily with a score of 12 points. :eek:

And just a reminder folks, the ECAC PICK THE PLAYOFFS contest thread is up and running awaiting your picks :) .

Highest winning total ever was 2012-2013, GoPuckman with 150. Now you know what to shoot for :) .
