Re: ECAC Pick The Standings Contest 2015-2016
100 tickets! You beat me by 95. I prefer to let the machine do it too. One can't help trying to create some type of pattern for manual tickets. Trying to do it 100 times would be frustrating. I'd prefer not to do even 5. I do wonder how the machines generate random numbers though. Back in comp sci classes, I recall learning that computers couldn't generate them.JM: Jen and i are not lottery players nor are we gamblers at Atlantic City which is only 45 minutes from here. I just do not like the odds and neither of us like to waste money we worked for. But when the PB hit the 1Billion mark, we succumbed. She picked her number sand bought 1 ticket $2) and I being a moron picked some but let the machine pick the others and bought 99 tickets ($198). Her one ticket got the PB number plus 2 other numbers and I think she got $7 which is not bad for her investment. I had the Power Ball twice, none with any associated numbers and on the rest of the tickets not a single one with more than 1 number for a total return of $8 on my investment. Needless to say, i will not be doing this again any time in the near future. This contest that Vic runs for us every year, and his pick the playoffs contest are pretty much the only things we enter. I too though, expect it to be downhill for me from here on also.
