I am heading up to the Yale Providence game. Hoping to see Repensky and Doherty for Yale. They have both been out with injuries. Have not heard any status on them though.

Re: ECAC 2015-2016 Season Thread

ECAC team is guaranteed hardware from the Shillelagh tournament. It's too bad Harvard and RPI won't get to see new opponents, especially when they play each other next week.

Re: ECAC 2015-2016 Season Thread

Saturday OC:
3-3-3 Overall
1-1-3 Against Ranked Non-Conference - in five games we only lost one against ranked non-conference (Providence) and that was close.
2-3-2 Against HE - the premier college hockey league

Reading between the lines here ... ECAC teams who are supposed to be in the bottom half of the ECAC this year, Union, Dartmouth, Brown and Cornell, were 1-0-3 against ranked and highly respected competitors. Brown had UML beaten with under a minute. That top line looks like one of the best in College hockey.

We need to get Colgate back on track. In years past they made it a habit of knocking off ranked OC competitors.

We dropped from .673 to .648

Next Week ... all conference games.

Re: ECAC 2015-2016 Season Thread

Right now, ECAC would have 6 teams in the tournament, assuming the highest PWR-ranked team in each conference receives the auto-bid. AHC and WCHA are presently auto-bid only. Expect this to drastically change in the coming weeks as we beat each other up in conference play.

Re: ECAC 2015-2016 Season Thread

Big weekend coming up .....
10 Non-Conference games for the ECAC
- 7 against HE
- 1 against Big10
- 2 against Arizona

Re: ECAC 2015-2016 Season Thread

Christmas Break has notoriously been when the ECAC has dug their inter-conference PWR hole. Hopefully the conference is so much stronger top to bottom that we'll see our teams hold serve and maybe even knock off a few top opponents.

Re: ECAC 2015-2016 Season Thread

From December 28 through January 10 we have the next big batch of non-conference games totaling 31. Then the rest of the way in the regular season we have 10 more. Our benchmark is the premier college hockey league, HE. We have a slight lead on them. We have an even narrower lead on NCHC. All top 6 of our teams are in the top 20 pairwise. Non-conference wins, especialy against current or potential top 20 teams, is huge. We have the skill, top to bottom, to pull off some big non-conference upsets. To the best of my knowledge we have never had more than 3 ECAC teams (current era) make the NCAA tournament.

Re: ECAC 2015-2016 Season Thread

After January 10, 2016 its going to be very difficult to raise our conference RPI. How we do in non-conference play will largely determine the number of ECAC teams that make the NCAA tournament. Nothing is a given. Last year we sent three but came close to only sending 1.

We need some upsets, tournament wins, etc.

This weekend there is only one ECAC non-conference matchup.

Union vs Vermont
