East Regional - (Providence) BC vs Union, QC vs Canisius

Thank you NCAA! Toss out bracket integrity (not that it matters) for attendance and still the place will be empty!

Union will advance, unless the NC$$ not only fixed this regional as they did, but fix the officiating to guarantee the BC win they want.

So the only chance lowly bc has is if the refs help them? Against an ecac team? I wish you told me this pearl before I bought tickets...

Re: East Regional - (Providence) BC vs Union, QC vs Canisius

A lot of outsiders are discounting union but nobody from bc is. Also, I can already hear the morons blaming bc fans for the poor attendance saturday when anyone with half a brain knows this is all on the ncaa.

I'd be thrilled if attendance reaches 4000 saturday

Milner, the current BC goalie, was fantastic in goal last year and I believe he won the tournament trophy as the MVP? You could not get a goal past him if you shot it out of a canon. BC started this year by winning their first 11 games (13-2-1 by January 1) and then they got bored because of the lack of competition in the HE. They decided to wait until the playoffs to get going again. These Eagles will come after us with their talons out you can be sure. This is also like a home game for them. They will try and blow us out from the getgo. They have 4 of the top forwards in the Country and they lead the HE in scoring. They are also a great power-play team. Their coach is not going to let them take us lightly. It will be interesting to see how the Dutchmen will react to being able to play "the Champ", to compare themselves against the very best. There is no way that Union is looking past this game. The one thing we have on our side .... for us this is the national championship game.

Re: East Regional - (Providence) BC vs Union, QU vs Canisius

Are the buses only for students or are they available to regular fans as well? I haven't heard anything which is why I'm asking.

I'm not really sure, to be honest. It's probably just students but I don't know for sure. Everyone in our particular group is driving up and staying at various houses (either to drown sorrows or pregame for the final).

The two favorites here (QU and BC) should definitely be on upset alert because they're not playing their best over the last month and they're facing squads that are playing their best. Wisconsin seems to be a trendy pick from the other side of the bracket right now and it's mostly because that is a red-hot team. I'd love to see QU-BC for the regional final but it's not going to be easy.

Does anyone know if there's readmission between games Saturday ?

Re: East Regional - (Providence) BC vs Union, QC vs Canisius

Skating 5 D is a very good idea by York in my opinion. 3 of the 5 will be veterans of last years' dominant defensive unit with the other two being a very talented 1st round NHL draft pick (Matheson) and another small but skilled guy in Doherty. While nothing is guaranteed, this group has the potential to play some very solid D.

who the heck wrote that mularkey? This Milner isn't that Milner and he has to be that Milner for BC to have a shot.......... We "decided to wait until the playoffs to get going?" hahahahha, they have not "got going" at all. Did you watch last friday night?........... "compare themselves to the very best" ? Then you need to go play in UML's regional or Minnesota's regional, there you'll find the very best............just sayin

Why BC is the favorite

http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/colleges/post/_/id/3306/yorks-return-should-help-boston-college

Boston College may have lost its first Hockey East playoff game in four years this past weekend, but the Eagles still have an ace up their sleeve as they get their head coach back just in time for the opening round of NCAA tournament play on Saturday

They've got an ace up their sleeve alright. They will also have a deuce down their pant legs at some point this weekend.

Which team will throw a parade for taking out BC's worst team in the last 15 years? It would be funny if it was Canisius. Actually it will be funny for any of the other 3 teams.

Welcome to Providence this weekend!

Holiday scheduling idiocy and dumb starting times aside, this longtime Brown fan (and RI resident) hopes all who come here to support their teams have a great time.

Honestly all the BC fans I know are scared ****less of this game.

Union is basically Lake Superior State and trying to capture lightning in a bottle. The wonderful thing about college hockey is that this sort of thing DOES occur and David CAN slay Goliath. It's why they play the games*

*I just made that up.

Any suggestions for where to watch a game before the BC game? Right now I'm down to Trinity and Ri-Ra

Union is taking over Ri-Ra for our pre-game from 7:00-9:00. You are more than welcome to come, but you should know that it'll be $15 to enter (you get all-you-can-eat appetizers) plus a cash bar. You'll also be surrounded by Union fans...That's a good thing or a bad thing depending on who you ask. :)

Re: East Regional - (Providence) BC vs Union, QC vs Canisius

Can't be any worse than being surrounded by BU or Maine fans ;)

Appreciate the heads up...looks like I'll be going to Trinity (although if I go to Ri-Ra, I'll be there at 4 PM anyway).
