ICE went to Minneapolis Roosevelt High School and gassed the fucking students at dismissal. I did student teaching there and my SO worked there as well.

For months, I – along with many of my fellow elected officials, law enforcement agencies and community members – have warned of the dangers of the Trump Administration’s chaotic, reckless and unnecessary ICE operations in our cities.

Today, our worst fears became reality when an ICE agent shot and killed a woman in South Minneapolis. This is beyond unacceptable. It’s unconscionable and sickening.

President Trump and his Administration will try to justify their meddling in Minnesota – they will continue to lie and say it’s about keeping folks safe – but Minnesotans know this isn’t true. It’s a flat-out lie. Today, the President’s political stunt got a woman killed.

Trump’s actions have never been about keeping people safe. They have never been about catching criminals. They have always been about weaponizing our immigration system and using immigrant communities as political pawns.

President Trump, Secretary Noem, hear me loud and clear: ICE must leave Minnesota – NOW.

We are a nation of immigrants. Immigrants are essential members of our communities. Immigrants make up the fabric of our state – and they make us stronger.

To my fellow Minnesotans, stay peaceful. Take care of one another and know that I am fighting this reckless Administration at every turn. We won’t back down.

The Trump administration will withdraw from dozens of international organizations, including the U.N.'s population agency and the U.N. treaty that establishes international climate negotiations, as the U.S. further retreats from global cooperation.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order suspending U.S. support for 66 organizations, agencies, and commissions, following his administration’s review of participation in and funding for all international organizations, including those affiliated with the United Nations, according to a White House release.

Many of the targets are U.N.-related agencies, commissions and advisory panels that focus on climate, labor, migration and other issues the Trump administration has categorized as catering to diversity and “woke” initiatives. Other non-U.N. organizations on the list include the Partnership for Atlantic Cooperation, the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance, and the Global Counterterrorism Forum.

It seems obvious, but since you asked.

I stated my opinion in my post, and you quoted it. Nothing about the rest of my post qualifies or modifies that opinion in any fashion.

However, actual facts matter. If facts are misstated or misrepresented, even if unintentionally, that necessarily diminishes the value of the opinion.

When slapshot made his post, and I responded, it was still early in the events. New photos and videos and witnesses were still turning up. He posted that she wasn't shot through the windshield, but through the drivers side window. I had just seen a news story that contained photos that pretty clearly shows a single shot through the windshield, and a drivers side window that was either down or shot out. The video also pretty clearly shows shots through the drivers side window.

I had no idea as to whether he had seen the photo of the single shot through the windshield, but I felt that it was important, if we were discussing what happened, to have an accurate recitation of what the facts were.

Again, nothing about that single bullet hole in the windshield caused me, when I saw it and saw the video of the shooting, to conclude the shooting was justified. It clearly wasn't. But a statement that there wasn't a shot through the windshield is simply inaccurate.
 
ICE wouldn't even allow medical help at the scene. That's super confirmed this morning.

None of ICE is trained in de-escalation. So, I implore anyone who is going to protest to be very very careful and do it peacefully. They will not hesitate to gun you down.
