Dump Term 2, 1.01: Sleep Now in the Fire

A young, presumably white engineer being an ignorant privileged moron? Knock me over with a feather.

The only surprising thing is her gender. Otherwise prototypical
For the record, I think most engineers go through this. Some come out the other side to become an adult. Others never do.

Hey Dem Leadership:

The Dem leaders are failing but ^ has nothing to do with it.

Exactly what I said. They have no answer, no unified message and no leader.

Some Democrats boycotted the speech. Others glowered in silence. Still others walked out. Democratic Rep. Al Green of Texas shouted out at the president until House Speaker Mike Johnson ordered Green removed from the gallery. Others, in silent protest, held up paddles printed with disconnected messages ranging from “Protect Veterans” and “False” to “Save Medicaid” and “Musk Steals.” Late-night comic Stephen Colbert joked that the cacophony of mixed messages on paddles looked like a chaotic bingo game.

Even the Democrats’ attempts to dress in certain colors to protest Trump weren’t well coordinated this time. Some viewers complained that the Democrats were too sedate, while others disliked the heckling. The only common denominator was the opposition party’s refusal to comply with House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries’ request for a “dignified” response during the address.

They're a clown show and came across as amateurs and assholes.

Weber has a great quote that the German parliament of his era (1917) was incapable of producing the type of leaders who could then transition to governing. Unless it was a working parliament, with thousands of hours of hard committee work, all that would be attracted and created would be superficial vote attractors, not people with the confidence of expertise and the Darwinian selection of having fought through hundreds of different truly political battles, with all the tactical nimbleness and art of negotiation.

The self-neutering of Congress has made both parties incapable of governing and of leading.

Ah, the good ol' 1950's again.

DOD will no longer prohibit contractors from running segregated facilities. Can't have them darkies mingling with the good ol' white folk while they're slappiing tanks together.

Sounds like we're removing references/photos of the Enola Gay from government websites because "gay"...

You'd think nuking the slant-eyes would be the high water mark for many of the gun humpers...

Reporter: "Your foreign affairs minister yesterday called all this a psychodrama, how do you characterize it?"

Trudeau: "...... Thursday."

Then goes into a long explainer of events he's overseen, and my God I would run through brick walls for Democrats to be like him.

The thing that baffles me is there are definitely plenty of smart people in the party. When I hear David Axlerod and Van Jones on CNN they completely get it then you see the elected Dems look like complete clowns.

Trump ended that on Day 1...but he isn't racist!
