Depends on how much you want to drink.
I hope they use the new arena for UMD's Graduation Ceremony. Mostly becasue I will be the first class to use it.![]()
The 21-member All-DECC Team, will be recognized during the first intermission this Saturday’s clash with Denver. The group includes centers Matt Christensen (1982-86), Keith “Huffer” Christiansen (1963-67), Dan Lempe (1976-80), Mark Pavelich (1976-79) and Derek Plante (1989-93), wingers John Harrington (1975-79), Brett Hull (1984-86), Walt Ledingham (1969-72), Junior Lessard (2000-04), Chris Marinucci (1990-1994), Shjon Podein (1987-90) and Bill Watson (1982-85), defensemen Curt Giles (1975-79), Guy Gosselin (1982-1987), Brett Hauer (1989-93), Jim Johnson (1980-84), Tom Kurvers (1979-84) and Norm Maciver (1982-86) and goaltenders Bob Mason (1981-83), Glenn “Chico” Resch (1968-71) and Alex Stalock (2006-09).
I am surprised that d-man Dave Langevin who starred at UMD in the early to mid 1970s and won 4 Stanley Cups with the NY Islanders is not on the All-DECC Team.
I'm guessing that in the future they will still use the old arena for youth tournaments, practices, hockey camps, figure skating lessons, etc.High school playoffs will be in the old DECC.
EDIT: Or not. Guess the plan changed. Guessing tDECC will sit mostly vacant except for trade shows and the like.
That would actually require you to have good enough grades, in order for you to be eligible to graduate biddco!![]()
I hate how in Duluth pretty much the only games on tv is home games so it doesn't really help haha but agreed with everyone it should be on in a lot of cities its a huge series for the WCHA
Its not the trying, alcohol makes you smarter, and you drink more now than high school. Its the truth, would I lie?My college GPA is higher than my high school GPA. Hooray for actually trying!

WHO'S HOT?
Denver Cup Classic MVP Drew Shore (12-10=22) continues to star for the Pioneers this season. Shore led DU with six points (4g, 2a) in the Denver Cup, including his first career hat trick and career-best four points in the win over Lake Superior State. Shore is tied for first in the WCHA in scoring with a career-best 22 points (12g, 10a). Shore leads the WCHA in league scoring with 13 points (5g, 8a). He has a four-game point streak and at least one point in nine of the last 10 games.
Sam Brittain (9-3-2, 1.95 GAA, .933 Sv%) has started 13 straight games in net. Brittain was named the Red Baron WCHA Rookie of the Week on Oct. 26 and Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 2 and Nov. 23. Brittain leads the WCHA in save percentage and ranks second in goals against average for league games and all games.
David Makowski (3-10=13), who was named Red Baron WCHA Rookie of the Week on Nov. 16 and Nov. 23, has a six-game point streak.
Anthony Maiani (3=13=16) has a five-game point streak, while Beau Bennett (3-6=9) has a three-game point streak and Dustin Jackson (2-0=2) has a two-game goal streak.
Jason Zucker is tied for the WCHA lead with nine goals in league play and is fifth among rookies in scoring with 14 points (9g, 5a) in all games.
PLAYER NOTES
Forward Dustin Jackson returned to the DU lineup on Nov. 19 after missing the 2008-09 season with a broken leg and the first 12 games this season with mononucleosis. John Lee returned to the lineup on Nov. 26 after missing three games with a broken hand. Jesse Martin is out for the season after suffering a neck injury at North Dakota on Oct. 30. Drew Shore leads DU with seven multi-point games, while Anthony Maiani has five. Shore has tallied a hat trick, while Zucker (2), Salazar (2), Donovan, Maiani and Kyle Ostrow have netted two-goal games.
MAKING A POINT -- AND THEN SOME: Five of the top 19 slots on the current WCHA overall scoring chart are occupied by Bulldogs -- junior All-American center Jack Connolly and junior left winger Mike Connolly (both tied for third with 20 points), senior right winger Justin Fontaine (tied for ninth with 17 points), junior center Travis Oleksuk (tied for 13th with 16 points) and rookie right winger J.T. Brown (tied for 16th with 15 points). Jack Connolly is second among his WCHA colleagues in assists (15) while Mike Connolly, Fontaine and Oleksuk all are tied for fourth in goals with nine. On the national level, only four other players (Miami’s Andy Miele and Carter Camper, Denver’s Drew Shore and Wisconsin’s Mark Zengerle) have produced more points thus far in 2010-11 than the two Connollys.
HITTING THEIR STRIDE: This weekend series features the two clubs who currently sport the two longest current winning streaks in the country in the Pioneers (six games) and Bulldogs (five games).
Its true. Every exam I've ever taken drunkenly, I've gotten an A on. Trust me, there were many of them. Some of my buddies had a competition to see how many beers they could drink between the morning and afternoon session of the FE, one had 9 the other 10, both scored better in the afternoon session than morning. Its science, and its true. With that logic you would be Albert Einstien.
High school playoffs will be in the old DECC.
EDIT: Or not. Guess the plan changed. Guessing tDECC will sit mostly vacant except for trade shows and the like.
I guess they could also use it for Spirit of Duluth. With three ice sheets at the DECC, they wouldn't need to spread the tournament all over Duluth. Just a thought.
UMD does get good turnouts for teams like North Dakota, but I was shocked at how easy it was to get into the Denver series last year when the Pios were loaded and #1 in the nation. UMD would still draw okay without Minnie or Wisconsin on the schedule, but some of the punch would be gone.
The Decc isn't a bad place, I'm glad I got to visit before they replaced it.
Question for Denver fans: does the team fly to Duluth, take their own bus, or charter?
I know UMD flies, so I would assume Denver does as well. I've made that drive before with beersong and DHG and it is brutal.

Denver flies to every away opponent except for CC in the WCHA. The worst trip is the trip to Tech.
Maybe that was because of the company you were keeping...I know UMD flies, so I would assume Denver does as well. I've made that drive before with beersong and DHG and it is brutal.
Bemidji wouldn't be that bad, if they already fly into Grand Forks, they can do that again and bus to Bemidji, the bus ride from GF to Bemidji is flat and boring but its not that long.I am not sure if they will fly to Omaha or not. And the Tech trip is brutal - I think they fly to Green Bay and bus from there or maybe fly to Minneapolis to Duluth and bus to Houghton. I am sure the Bemidji trip won't be loads of fun either.
