With the network of highways through North and Central America, this would connect the United Kingdom to Panama. Could practically drive straight through to the southern tip of Argentina if it weren't for the Darien National Park.

I would absolutely LOVE to drive through to Europe.

The roadway would be nice, but **** would that be a mother-humping haul. Even if its a roadie from Vancouver to Moscow, its probably still at least a week's drive easy, assuming that the weather is decent. During the winter? Ha!! Forget about it. It would only work if they have high speed car transport trains on that line as well. that and being able to move freight along those tracks as well.

Introducing LiquiGlide

The coating is a permanently wet layer that is designed to be super slippery. Essentially, the product is resting directly on a layer of liquid. But don’t be mistaken: While the coating appears to be similar to superhydrophobic surfaces that are already in use today, the technology is different. Superhydrophobic surfaces repel water by creating a layer of air between the water and the rough surface. The technique is used for a variety of products, but there are some drawbacks with durability.

However, where superhydrophobic technology uses air, LiquiGlide uses liquid. The founder calls it a “liquid-impregnated surface” because the liquid fills in the gaps between the textured item. The coating can also be adjusted depending on the material, making the range of possibilities immense. Just this week, the company teamed up with Elmer’s Product Inc. to use the technology for their glue bottles

Yeah, the Alaska Highway is not a superhighway. It's two lanes in most places. Oh and that missing road and rail link to Nome. It would be expensive to upgrade the Alaska Highway and build a road to Nome, let alone a Bering Strait bridge and road across Siberia.

Well, if you wanna follow the speed limit it would take you that long. :p

I was kinda thinking more of Cannonball Run type approach to driving that distance. Couple of drivers, somebody always sleeping in the back seat, rotating whenever you need to gas up. Lots of candy bars, coffee, energy drinks and bottles on hand as well. ;)

Yesterday, Gawker posted an article with the title "The Food Babe is Full of Sh-t."

I started to figure out that she was full of it after she posted (and removed) a post saying "pilots control the air in the plane and that passengers are sprayed with pesticides before boarding."
