Let me be the first to complain about the announcers. Our locals do a better job with names and pronunciations. Let alone the fact that the announcers have Ali Vakos playing goal for the Cardinals. This is embarrassing to listen to.

Update: Sydney Aveson does make an appearance in the game toward the end of the first period...

Are the stats getting a little home cooking??

I didn't get to see a lot of the first period...but when I was watching most of the play was in the Plattsburgh zone...yet live stats has shots at 19-5 in favor of plattsburgh? is that accurate?

Seems pretty accurate. St. Thomas' rare possession is not ending in shots on goal. Also, alot of Plattsburgh's shots have not been hard shots.

Stats are right on the money to me. Riedel has been solid so far and she definitely plays with an edge.

Platty had the puck in UST end for practically whole first 5 minutes.

UST has had a couple of nice breakouts and a couple decent chances on counterattacks.

2nd PP call on Vakos looked like she just tripped over her own feet to me.

Agreed with all of the above. Plattsburgh's carelessness with the puck in their own zone in the 2nd is bound to cost them before the end of this one. Plattsburgh's chances are much fewer this period...

That was a bogus call on the goalie hit. Replay shows it was the Plattsburgh player that hit Aveson/knocked the St Thomas player into her.

I couldn't tell what happened. It was a very late call at any rate. They gave the make-up call pretty immediately. I'd rather they not make either call if they're going to call things that way...

Let's see the replay on the high stick penalty!!! The first penalty (tripping) in OT was bogus. Come on...

How do you call a high stick on a player that is being pushed up against the boards by two members of the other team?

I don't know go...

With the homer tally of SOG's, the East (and Media) is going to spew that this was a domination by Platty. When in reality it was a domination by poor officiating. They were completely influenced by the hometown crowd.

Do we even know if the sogs were kept by a homer? Might be some ncaa toad keeping track. By the way, the sogs looked pretty accurate to me from the stands..

The NCAA has their own official scorers. These numbers are from them...not the homers!....They could have called a lot more penalties against the Tommies with their aggressive defense that weren't called...they knew what they had to do to stay in the game and did it....and it usually results in more penalties....don't ruin a great performance from the Tommies goalie...she was the difference in the game and should be congratulated by the fans. The whining about officials gets old quick. It was a great game by St Thomas.

It was a great game by the Tommies...and by Plattsburgh. The breakaway in OT, seemed like the break the Tommies were looking for and I don't even think the shot was on net.

There were phantom calls in OT. There was no high stick, it might have been bad camera work, but I didn't see a trip on the last penalty. There were just as many St thomas players going down in OT and nothing is called.


If you are going to call Penalties in OT, which I think you should, then you need to call it fairly.

Penalties are 7-2, 6-1 if you exclude the non-slashing penalty and make up call in the third.

At least Platty will be a little bit tired for River Falls tomorrow :)

I'll take these announcers versus the Gopher women's announcers! Absolutely terrible announcing and the voice of the color lady is like nails on chalkboard!
