Div III Final Four - Come get me NCAA...

Re: Div III Final Four - Come get me NCAA...

Completely agree, but when you're short handed for almost an entire period worth of time, you'd expect that. I'm not saying Platty wasn't the better team, either. Again, all I'm asking is if the RF game was lopsided.

By the time River Falls got things going the game was over. They were down 3-0 very early in the 2nd and I don't think any neutral observer would have given them much of a shot after that point. They played hard the whole game, but Norwich did sort of have things on cruise control up 4-0 (and up by 4 goals the style points for shots on net do not count for much). Honestly I did not understand why, at down 4-2, River Falls waited so long to get the extra attacker (around 1:15 to play) on the ice. I have seen Norwich play Plattsburgh twice this season (2nd game webcast) and really hoped for a different match up in the final.

Kuechle let in some goals that I think she would would have normally stopped. I don't think she was on her game yesterday. I'm not going to harp on officiating, but River Falls was called for a slash early in the game, a Norwich player did the same thing to a River Falls player later on, hit her in the arm with her stick knocking the River Falls girls stick out of her hands, and no call. Right in front of the official. Everyone is saying don't whine about the officiating, but you know **** well that if Plattsburgh had been given 3 penatlies in over time and St Thomas had won...the whining would be non-stop.

I agree, St Thomas was gassed. You look at the game winning goal most of the players on the ice were standing between the defensemen who shot it and Reidel. That puck made it through 6 or 7 people...I don't think they ever said on the webcast whether it was tipped or not. A lot of the Tommies break aways in OT resulted in nothing.

The one thing the west has to get better at, and I think it comes from the west not having as many high caliber teams, is being able to be resourceful when the other team isn't letting you do what you want to do. Norwich disrupted River Falls game plan, and I don't think River Falls knew what to do.

When I saw the replay during the Webcast, it sure looked to me it was tipped on the way in. It was actually a very nice play by the players doing the tip, directing the puck downward. Textbook play exceuted very well. Who got credit for the goal, the shooter of the person doing the tip/redirect ?

I don't know...unfortunately I don't know the Plattsburgh players. The announcer said it was a rising shot that went under the crossbar...it looked to me like it got tipped and went 5 hole? I don't know though lol I was pretty irritated when it happened haha

He was correct on this one. Era's shot made it through untouched and sailed over Riedel's right shoulder into the top corner. There was just too much traffic for her to pick it up in time.

Congratulations to the Cardinal players, Coach Houle and his staff, the parents and fans on their third women's NCAA DIII Championship!!!
See you next season. Best wishes to all for a great summer.

Did Plattsburgh use a soccer net like I suggested? Looks that way, 9-2. Wow.
