Plus, there's the hassle factor which can make busing easier.

Hamilton would have to bus to either Syracuse or Rochester. I don't know which airport in Michigan they would fly into, and then of course bus from there to Adrian. Add in all the time at the airports...

Syracuse has direct flights to Detroit and then it's 49 miles to Adrian.

Wow, they prettied it up! Did you find this on Google? I tried searching for a replacement when the original link went down and never saw that...

Thank you for sharing this.

You are welcome! I found it last week when I had Googled "NCAA mileage calculator." to check Adrian's "sphere of influence." Tonight, based on the earlier posts, I thought it might have gone away, but it is still there!

I know we have games to be played, but what do we know about Orr Rink of Amherst? Does it hit all the hosting capabilities should the Mammoths advance? Obviously Plattsburgh would be a great host if Amherst loses. Likewise, if both Amherst and Plattsburgh lose, GAC is more than capable and would do a fantastic job if they can win against River Falls.

The women's requirements are more lenient than the men's side. Adrian hosted the Women's final 4 but I do not believe would qualify for the men's. Not a definitive answer, but hope it helps.

Sources inside Plattsburgh are under the impression that Orr qualifies to host the women's championship weekend if they advance. Though if it's the same as it was when I was there in 2012, I would recommend rooting for Colby or Norwich in the QF if you value a good rink experience.

That said, Amherst and nearby Springfield probably offer the best off-day options of things for spectators to fill their Saturday compared to Plattsburgh or St. Peter, unless one were to try and make it to a men's tourney QF on the off day Saturday.

Not sure Plattsburgh area doesn't offer a lot. It is about a 50 minute trip to Lake Placid and an hour to Montreal with plenty to see and do in between. Probably to travel around the Cambridge/Boston area would take longer to see and do as much.

I personally love Plattsburgh but Springfield is 30 minutes from Amherst compared to the distances Plattsburgh is to LP, Burlington or even Montreal with not only distance but the border crossing.

Just looking at championship weekend if Plattsburgh can't get home ice I'm glad it's Amherst and not GAC or Adrian #1. For the Saturday off day if Plattsburgh women advance I'm thinking either the cross-state drive to Endicott if the Cardinal men are playing there or the basketball hall of fame and then the AHL game in Springfield (they're doing a bring-your-dog night on 3/18).

Wow... with 5.5 seconds left, the Falcons take the OT victory. What a win for UWRF. On the other end, you have to think it might be the nail in the coffin for Carroll. If he can't win a title with this loaded team, it's not happening. They might be cooked now, since this loss all but clinches a road trip to Wisconsin in the quarters and most likely a loss. I know GAC beat them last year, but the Falcons are Carroll's kryptonite. I think the Gusties might be done.

Just reposting, no reason other than to expose this freakin' guy
