DIII Posters' Play of the Year/All-Posters' Teams 2009-2010

Re: DIII Posters' Play of the Year/All-Posters' Teams 2009-2010

Eric Tallent
Senior
Norwich
Defense
7-13-20
3 GWG
2 PPG
2 SHG

Norwich allowed only 39 goals this year, 1.56 per game, the least in DIII.

Re: DIII Posters' Play of the Year/All-Posters' Teams 2009-2010

Bumping this back up to the top, less than a day to go for submissions, the West still needs Defense.

Re: DIII Posters' Play of the Year/All-Posters' Teams 2009-2010

All things considered, my pick for the POTY is:
Daniel Dempsey - Freshman - Forward - 23games played - 11goals (includes 2 SHG's) - 3assists - 14points
*** While playing against ECAC-W teams as a member of the Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen

Poor kid, wonder where he's gonna transfer to

Re: DIII Posters' Play of the Year/All-Posters' Teams 2009-2010

Quinn McIntosh
Senior
Finlandia
Defenseman
6-24-30
2 PPG

Leading scorer on the team... as a D-man!

Re: DIII Posters' Play of the Year/All-Posters' Teams 2009-2010

I shall have the pool posted within the hour. Just checking/updating all of the stats and putting it all in an Excel Spreadsheet. What I'm going to do is create this Excel Spreadsheet with a table for Forwards, a table for Defense, and a table for Goalies, and post it as a Google Document so you all may look at relative standings in the different stats more easily as you determine your votes. I'll let you know when it's up and where you can find it.

<strike>Also, I added him to the spreadsheet, but forgot to post it here (ignore this nomination if you're not okay with the late submission):

Kyle Shearer-Hardy, D, Jr, 24GP, 8G, 21A, 29Pts, 1.2083 P/GP
- ALSO leads his team (Bowdoin - a Pool C recipient) in scoring, despite playing D.</strike>

EDIT: Nevermind, He was already nominated :o

Alright! I have it done, and it is up as a Google Spreadsheet!

Our final Numbers ended up being:
25 Forwards (15E, 10W)
12 Defense (6E, 6W)
13 Goalies (10E, 3W)

Which is enough to move on

A browser-viewable Google Spreadsheet sorted by P/GP and GAA can be found HERE.

An excel file in which you may sort it however you choose can be found HERE. Click "Download (51 kb)" at the top of the screen.

In both cases, Forwards, Defense, and Goalies are on separate sheets (tabs at the bottom of the screen).

So, voting is now open. Please use the vote format described in the first post of this thread. Email all votes to d3.poty@gmail.com by Puck Drop of the first game in Lake Placid.

Re: DIII Posters' Play of the Year/All-Posters' Teams 2009-2010

FYI....

Steven Rizer's Pts/GP is incorrect...

33 points in 26 games is 1.269 Pts/GP

Thank you! This has bee corrected on the Google Spreadsheet version of the tables. If any of you use Excel, please note this difference (it does indeed bring him below Stansik for Pt/GP).

Re: DIII Posters' Play of the Year/All-Posters' Teams 2009-2010

Also, it was recommended to me to repost the voting information so it would be more recent in the thread. Apparently some of you guys might tend to be too lazy to look for it. ;)

Each vote submission shall be submitted to d3.poty@gmail.com follow this format:

Please do not submit a vote for a player on the both the national AND regional teams: these two should be mutually exclusive.

Rules for voting:
*Definitions -
POTY Vote - Top 5 DIII players in the voter's opinion, ranked 1-5
All-Posters' Team - Top 3 Forwards, 2 Dmen, and 1 Goalie in all DIII
Regional Team - Top 3 Forwards, 2 Dmen, and 1 Goalie in each region not named to the National Team.

*Each 5-man submission for Player of the Year must include players from both regions and a player from at least 3 different teams.

*Each National Team Vote must include at least 1 player from each region, and at least 1 player from 3 different teams.

Calculation of Results
Player of the Year:
The will be "Heisman-style" voting. First place gets 5pts, Second place gets 4pts, etc. The Player with the Top Total Score will be the DIII Posters' Player of the Year.

All-Posters' Teams:
Each vote for a player on the National Team will be worth 2pts, each vote to the Regional team will be worth 1 pt. The 3 Forwards, 2 Defensemen, and 1 Goalie with the highest totals will become the All-Posters' DIII Team. With these players removed from consideration, the 3 forwards, 2 Defensemen, and 1 goalie with the highest totals in each region will be names to their respective Regional Teams.

Re: DIII Posters' Play of the Year/All-Posters' Teams 2009-2010

Happy St. Patrick's Day.

2 and a half days left to vote, and I only have 2 votes (and one of them is my own vote). Don't forget to vote.

Re: DIII Posters' Play of the Year/All-Posters' Teams 2009-2010

Well, I only received a whopping 4 votes. I have results after the 4 votes, but before I post them, I'd like to give you all one more chance to submit votes. 4 is a bit small of a sample size.

Please, for those of you who haven't voted, get them in by 12pm EDT on Wednesday.

Re: DIII Posters' Play of the Year/All-Posters' Teams 2009-2010

Cards, just sent my votes, hope you got it, I am new at this. There were some tough decisions to make in this voting because there were so many deserving candidates, and many more who did not get nominated. With so many teams having young talented players, the next few years may see so many more candidates.:) It's been a great year in DIV III Hockey and a lot of fun posting on this site. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
