It's time for postseason honors!

Here's how it will work:

All players named a Posters' Player of the Week are automatically "In the Pool"
These are:
Code:
11/23 - Eric Satim, Plattsburgh
11/30 - James Lacour, Salem State
12/7 - Neil musselwhite, Oswego
12/14 - Jon Whitelaw, Oswego
 1/4 - Spencer Anderson, Hamline
 1/11 - Colin MacCormack, Bowdoin
 1/18 - Derek Handon, Wis.-Stout
 1/25 - Zeke Testa, Babson
2/1 - Zack Kleiman, St. Scholastica
 2/8 - Ryan Purdy, Williams
 2/15 - Charlie Townsend, Middlebury
 2/22 - Cory Gershon, Geneseo
 3/1 - Justin Lochner, Augsburg

This thread will be for nomination for postseason honor consideration. Nominations shall include:
Skaters - Name, year, Team, Position, G-A-Pts, Statistical Categories led.
Goalies - Name, year, Team, W-L record, Saves, Save Percentage, GAA, Minutes Played, Statistical Categories Led.

Any poster may nominate any number of players, with the following limitations:
*Any poster may contest a nomination, and any poster may support a contested nomination. If at least 3 posters contest a nomination, and at least 2 more posters contest it than support it, that player will not be considered to be "In the Pool"

*Only the first 3 Forwards, 2 Defensemen, and 1 Goaltender on a given team nominated and uncontested will be "In the the pool".

Nominations will close on Friday March 12th at 3pm ET. That Evening, I will post the Official "Pool" in this thread. These will be the players eligible for our postseason honors.

Once the pool has been determined, it then becomes time to vote. Voting will open the moment I post the pool on the thread, and will continue until 5pm on Saturday March 20th at 5pm ET (puck drop for the NCAA DIII National Championship Game in Lake Placid). Votes will be submitted via email to mailto:d3.poty@gmail.com.

Each vote submission shall follow this format:
Code:
Voter's USCHO Username:

*Each National Team Vote must include at least 1 player from each region, and at least 1 player from 3 different teams.

Calculation of Results
Player of the Year:
The will be "Heisman-style" voting. First place gets 5pts, Second place gets 4pts, etc. The Player with the Top Total Score will be the DIII Posters' Player of the Year.

All-Posters' Teams:
Each vote for a player on the National Team will be worth 2pts, each vote to the Regional team will be worth 1 pt. The 3 Forwards, 2 Defensemen, and 1 Goalie with the highest totals will become the All-Posters' DIII Team. With these players removed from consideration, the 3 forwards, 2 Defensemen, and 1 goalie with the highest totals in each region will be names to their respective Regional Teams.

And So Again, Nominations are now open and will continue to be open until 3pm ET on Friday March 12th. Nominating should be done in this thread, NOT via e-mail.

Let's do this!

He's already been nominated people. I know he's been amazing this year and deserves to win, but you only need to nominate him once.

Re: DIII Posters' Play of the Year/All-Posters' Teams 2009-2010

But Selleck has done it one less game:D

......how 'bout we arrange Oswego substitutes for us in the "play in game" tomorrow at St Norbert to give Selleck a fair chance a pulling ahead of Dahlinger ?

If Dahlinger pads his stats in that game I don't want to hear ....

......."but Selleck has done it two less games".....:p :D

LOL

Depends on Points Per Game:p :D

BUT...Dahlinger holds a slim lead in PIM over Selleck! We all know that can change with a few dumb penalties Saturday by Selleck..

Just a note, entrants from Oswego:

F Neil Musselwhite (POTW)
F Jon Whitelaw (POTW)
F Eric Selleck
F Justin Fox

D Stephen Mallaro

G Kyle Gunn-Taylor

I'm inclined to allow the extra forward, because the POTW entrants were not nominated but were rather automatically qualified. What do you guys think? This is the board's POTY selection, not mine.

Agreed...You stated in the initial post that the first three forwars NOMINATED from a team would be considered. Since Neil and Whitelaw weren't nominated, but rather received 'Pool A' (Automatic Bids) to the POTY entrants, Fox and Selleck should be considered. I might as well round out the third forward from Oswego and nominate...
