Re: DIII game notes
Well, lets see - Williams, Middlebury, Colby, Conn College I think. They were the ones smart enough to lay out the rink to their advantage. I don't thinking feeding the refs determines rink quality - anyone can do that if they are smart enough to think of it. This is a pretty silly comment. But don't mind me, I'm recovering from a 50-14 SOG ice wiping of Trinity by Conn College that they still managed to lose!
My ranking would be:
Bowdoin [for $26M it better be **** nice]
Midd [based purely on functionality, however, the rink is cold looking and ugly]
Colby [not the newest or fanciest, but a very nice rink]
Amherst [older and dated, but classy like my women]
Williams [older and a bit tired, but good viewing. functional]
Wesleyan [sort of a throwback, tied looking, poor lighting, don't like the connected complex]
Trinity [for a new rink, really terrible. just a hodge-podge mess of a place. poorly designed and executed. get a refund]
Conn [under funded, under built...fake locker rooms. good ice and good lighting, otherwise terrible. school should be embarrassed]
Hamilton [old and dumpy. not regulation size. almost no seating, and everyone gets an obstructed view seat. the support poles ruin it].
IMO teams should not be able to do what Midd does [their Penalty box is attached to their bench, the visitor's box is across the ice on the farthest point from the vistors bench]...and PS, Conn does not do that..both penalty boxes are near each respective bench.
