Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Good grief. This ballpark is a launching pad. Gardner and Grigorius have hit bombs off of Verlander today.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Verlander talks Ausmus out of taking him out of the game. In the bottom of the 7th, at 111 pitches. With A-Rod at the plate.

You can't do that. This is his 2nd start. Get him out of the game now.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

What in the hell is with this pitch calling? We just about had A-Rod struck out on an inside fastball, and now we go low and away twice, one bouncing away from Holiday, allowing a run to score.

J.D.!!!

4-0, 6 batters in

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

That was a poor, poor pitch call on the part of Cleveland. Cespedes is swinging at everything above his nipples, and then they try to throw him a curveball down and away. The ball ends up in the right field corner. Not sure if it's a ground-rule double or a stand-up triple. Under review.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

If you're looking this long at a replay, the call should stand. 4:21 to review.

Naturally, they reverse the call. Ground rule double.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

All right, Fat Joba, quit playing around. You've got a 3-run lead now, not a 12-run lead. Put the ham sandwich down and go to work.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

All right. He got out of it.

The only reason I'm okay with using Soria in the 9th is because he hasn't pitched in a couple days, so he needs some work.

He did the 9th yesterday. He gave up solo shots both games. Ick.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Ah. I was at the Mud Hens game on Sunday night, so I missed that.

BTW, there's not much down there, either. Shane Greene only got thru 4.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Jesus Christ, Castellanos. That was AT LEAST a double play.

I hear Toledo is nice this time of the year.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Apparently Buck Farmer is going to join the team in Cleveland tomorrow. Not sure what the other half of the move is.

7-3 final

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

The only reason the Tigers only have 4 9th inning runs against this week is they've been on the road. Jesus.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

Miguel Cabrera, the 2nd greatest hitter versus Cleveland of all-time, only behind Babe Ruth, will be on the bench today.

Yet Nick "drop the ball when walking to step on third base" Castellanos is still in the lineup.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

And Buck Farmer is going in place of Verlander. I'm glad I'm at the office instead of having to witness this on TV.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

3-0 Tribe in the 3rd, and the wheels are thiiiiis close to flying off for Mr. Farmer.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 8: The Doc Cramer edition

So, this is one of Leyland's old Sunday lineups. We just need Don Kelly and Brandon Inge for old times
