Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

you have to wonder, with the bullpen doing so well, once hanrahan comes in, who leaves?

Well, we're gonna have both Hanrahan and probably Knebel up here before too much longer. The Detroit News is starting to talk a bit about Knebel, so where there's smoke, there's probably fire.

My guess is that Reed is the first to go, and then......Coke. My suspicion is that Reed leaves when Knebel arrives, so that if he's not ready then Reed can be quickly recalled. Coke will probably leave the organization all together upon the debut of Hanrahan. The only thing saving Coke right now is the fact that he throws with his left arm.

The Tigers have released Nate Robertson as well. He was really struggling with his control in Toledo.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Why do they give Romine a bat to take to the plate?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Look. I understand (and agree) that Hunter Wendlestedt needs to be beaned once in a while, but you don't do it when he's working 2nd base and you're trying to pick off Rajai Davis.

6-1 final tonight.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Porcello will miss his next start. Ray will pitch for him on Thursday.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

And now here's Ray in the 6th. Oddest looking side session I've ever seen.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Going back to the Phil Coke discussion, I went to the Tigers/Brewers preseason exhibition games in 2010. I saw him pitch then and Coke and Zumaya combined for the worst 1/3 of an inning I've witnessed. (Well, I was rooting for both teams, more so the Brewers)

I can't believe he's lasted this long on the roster. Who does he have photos of in compromising poses?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Ryan Raburn hitting cleanup tonight for Cleeeeeveland.

You watch. He'll go 4-5 with two bombs.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Well, I think we used everyone else yesterday, and outside of Smyly, they didn't get to Cleveland until ~4 PM today.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Cleveland's terrible to only get one run in 2 innings off Coke. Everyone else would get 4.
