Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

The Astros have 3 guys in the lineup tonight hitting less than .190.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

HUGE single out of Davis to put us on the board in the 7th.

2-0 final.

Scherzer gonna Scherzer.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

When Robbie Ray throws a heater past the batter for a strikeout, that is called a Rayburn

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Why they're shifting on Miggy is beyond me.

5-1 now, bottom 7.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Haven't been able to understand loads of it. Victor leading in IBB, etc.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Uh-oh. Sure, it's only Houston, but Miggy starting to Miggy.

10-1 in the 8th.

And with what's hitting behind Martinez, and the start he's off to, I wouldn't be in a big hurry to pitch to Martinez, either.

Hey, sometimes you just need an easy one to break a slump to get your groove back.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Miggy has Miggied again in the 1st, but I'm not sure this one is going to hold up. It's raining a bit harder now at the park.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

I know the use of shifts is expanding, but man is it taken to the extreme with the Tigers. I think four guys get shifts put on them. And why they don't just try to bunt or slap the other way I'll never know.

Also, has Ausmus lost a challenge this year?

VICTOR!

3-1, bottom 6.

This one is going to count, as we're past the 5th.

Yes, Ausmus has lost a challenge or two so far.

Eventually some will bunt or slap the ball the other way. Either that or they're going to shift the crap out of us until things change.

3-2 this time.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Uh-oh. Joe West sighting at 1st base this evening. That means he'll be behind the plate tomorrow.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

Nothing wrong with Verlander's effort tonight. We didn't score. We haven't hit in 5 games, with the exception of the 11-run butt-pounding of the AAA Astros the other night. Had we played a real major league team, we would have lost 3 out of those 4 games against the Astros.

MIGGY!

6-0, bottom 2

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

And just like that, half of that lead goes bye-bye.

VICTOR!

9-3, bottom 7

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 6: The Al Kaline edition

All right. Who gave Rajai Davis the roller skates he's been using in left field the last couple days?
