Chad Fairchild is lucky this isn't a soccer game in Brazil. His head would no longer be attached to his neck.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Anyone else surprised that Fairchild didn't call Infield Fly Rule there?

There's got to be another move to make room on the 25 man roster.

Solid move, I think.

From the article:

It’s unclear if Veras will remain in the closer role for the Tigers, who’ve been looking for ninth-inning help all season and turned to the trade market after the Jose Valverde reunion predictably went horribly. Joaquin Benoit has been doing the job of late and has a superior track record to Veras, who’d never saved more than two games in a season before converting 19 saves with a 2.93 ERA and 44/14 K/BB ratio in 43 innings for the Astros.

Even though I know very little about Veras, I hope Benoit remains the Tigers closer at this point.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Big guy. Not a lefty, as I originally posted. Throws hard. Very affordable next year if he does his job this year.

And I suspect Benoit will continue to close.

Now. Someone on the 25-man (and 40-man, for that matter) roster has to go bye-bye. Who is it?

Beautiful play out of Raburn in the 9th tonight. :D Absolutely Raburn-esque.

Too bad the next Harrelson Hero lined out to end the inning.

Well, at least tonight must have ****ed off Hawk.

No announcers on Fox Sports Plus.

I like it.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

I don't need a camera on the top of the scoreboard. I'm not really interested in how the game looks from the Goodyear Blimp.

Whoever came up with that bright idea needs to be beaten with a shovel.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

You're getting your SS for the next 10 years in Jose Iglesias. Vacuum glove. Stick needs work.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

You got the rest of the trade, Joe? And where are you getting this from?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

I'm now seeing bits and pieces on MLB network.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 5: The Hank Greenberg edition

Peavy to the Red Sox

Iglesias to Detroit

Avisail Garcia to the White Sox.
