Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Swept in Anaheim.

That might be it right there.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

This series against the ChiSox decides whether we stay in the race or are done for the season. If we lose the series I think we're done barring a random hot streak. if we split, I still don't like our chances. If we win the series 3-1 we're tied and it becomes a 19 game season. A sweep sets up momentum with a one game lead but we also had momentum last week and didn't do anything with it.

Raburn hitting 2nd tonight.

No further comments are necessary from me.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

That was a major gag job with our Cy Young winning pitcher leading the way. Between he and Porcello they have exactly one win in their last 11 starts, IIRC.

It also didn't help that the offense went south against the Indians prior to this series. You can't fire the players... and since we sort of agreed that Leyland is better than the known quantities out there... we are stuck with his excuses too.

Good thing the Sox didn't want this any more than we do or this series would be mute.

Our favorite broke-dick goes Infield Fly Rule in his first at bat.

A Cabby strike-out and a Jackson CS ends the inning.

We're off to a rousing start.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

They have Kevin Youkilis hitting 2nd. We have you-know-who.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Delmon running like he's stepping in goose-**** again, but he scores on a liner to the wall. Peralta gets thrown out at second, naturally.

If this kid can hit all all next spring, Garcia is my right-fielder next season.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Shocks everyone so much that Miggy hits into a double play and Fielder whiffs.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Nice piece of fielding there, Raburn. Next time go hide behind the tarp.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Porcello's just glad that they actually scored a run during an inning that he pitched this time.
