FIELDER!!!

2-1 Angels, top 2

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

The White Sox have lost, and Avila has hit a homer since we last tuned in.

2-2, top 7.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Okay, it official: Marlboro Jimmy is senile.

Raburn hitting 6th, and Danny Worth is also in the lineup.

From MJ himself, in the Detroit News:

"If you look at the numbers over the last three years, Raburn has had some impressive numbers — some of the best home-run ratios in all of baseball," he said. "He hasn't done much to this point this year, that's for sure, but he's a talented guy."

Based on the home-run ratio of Raburn's three best years, he would have hit 17 home runs if he had 400 at-bats by now. He has one, with 12 RBIs, in 199 at-bats this season. He's batting .171.

"He can hit a three-run homer," said Leyland.

*deep breath and sigh*

I don't need to comment any further here, do I?

3-0 Angels, bottom 1.

Good to see that we put our best lineup in the field......oh, wait. We sent out a lineup not fit for the Paralympics.

Never mind.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

And Verlander's reaching for 96 in the 1st inning.

Hooray. We're dead.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

It's All-Star Game Verlander again! Yay!

That may have been the worst thing to happen to him in his career. He's still been good, but he's definitely been mortal since getting the ASG start.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

That ump took a direct shot between the eyes, and he's still down. He's not right at all.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Jesus Lord. That "ball boy" that went to get that beach ball is shaped like a beach ball.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Man, ever since Verlander ditched his regular Girl friend and has been dating kate upton he is not winning the big games. once in a while but not himself at all. Coincidence...?

Seriously we have been making so many mental mistakes, not taking bases, giving up all those steals in one game, not thinking, it's giving up runs and outs and it all adds up after a while.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

And now Miggy's about to get tossed. Prince had to come over and pat the ump on the leg to try to calm him down. It didn't work.

I think both of us have seen The Natural too many times. :p Hard to blame JV for tapping her.

It's going to add up to a lost season, I'm afraid.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Verlander is the next one that is going to go. Timmons is squeezing him big-time.

This is going to be a fiasco.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Definitely not a fan of Timmons, plenty of mistakes on his part.
he knew he messed up and was arrogant about it. tossing Lamont, that's nuts and then what he's doing after that is unprofessional.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

Delmon tried asking for help on that check swing. I think he went, but Timmons was more likely to throw him an anchor instead of a life raft.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

If you ask me running with a 6 -1 lead late in the game is bush league and u notice the announcers were quite surprised he ran. I'd be real po'd if I were the tigers.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 4: The Rudy York edition

I thought the same thing. You could tell Laird was not happy as he was chirping at the Angels dugout.
