Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

You know, with the rosters up to 40 now, it might not be a bad idea to have another catcher here, so that, you know, Avila doesn't have to catch about 76 GAMES IN A ROW!!!!

Huh. Give a guy run support and he turns into a beast.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Tweaked it last night.

Yeah, Pierzynski blocked the plate and Cabrera slid into his foot and twisted his ankle a little bit. Hopefully it's nothing serious, especially since that was like the 14th run last night.

4-2 final.

7 1/2 game lead. 6 up in the loss column, 21 to play.

I imagine that with one more win this series, the Tigers will make a move and Avila won't catch much in the last month.

They called up Santos last night, but he won't join the team until tomorrow. I still don't understand why it took so long.

Boesch officially out for the season, having surgery on his torn ligament sometime this week.

Toledo's season ended last night.

In fact, so did every one of the Tigers' top four farm teams. Only one that appeared to be close to a playoff spot was West Michigan.

Whitecaps are out too, finished a game out of the final playoff spot.

A 5-spot before the Tribe comes to bat. Let's see how long before Porcello starts throwing meatballs over the heart of the plate.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

The Tribe is down 10-1 and that idiot is beating his drum.

10-1 final.

8 1/2 games in front of Cleveland.

Kansas City and Minnesota have officially been eliminated. The Tigers have 80 wins, and the most KC and the Twins can come home with is 79.

But is that girl dancing?

And I don't care what anybody says; even watching firsthand how putrid the Twins are right now, I'm glad to have them officially out of the race.

Tribe getting to JV for a couple homers so far...Mud Hens lineup in the field today.
