If you can, you want the Yankees. The Tigers only have two starters. As far as I can tell, the Yankees have one.

Well I know who one of the "two" starters is....but I wonder who is considered to be the second.
Based on recent performance who is the second pitcher considered to be worthy of mention ?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Interesting comments by Curt Schilling on ESPN baseball (NYY/Sox) last night. When setting up the series with the White Sox, (Sunday night on ESPN, BTW) it was noted that Detroit is streaky offensively, average defensively, and only has two consistent starters. "No chance" to advance in the playoffs if they win the division. On Chicago: "underperformed" all season, but still dangerous. Ozzie's job is on the line.

Streaky offensively and inconsistent starters = No chance. Okay. So what if the offense and pitching is streaky good that week, Curt?

Ordonez!

Huge day for Maggs today. 3-3 with 2 doubles and a homer. Tigers still down 6-5, but a long ways to go.

Jacob Turner will make a spot start on Thursday against the Royals. Verlander is being pushed back a day to Friday. Not a bad decision, IMO.

It's a great decision, especially since I scored tickets to the game. :D

Here's to a nice Ozzy blowup. :)

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

I don't know how, in good conscience, FSD can continue to put that piece of **** Denny McLain on camera after what he did. I don't care if he is talking about Justin Verlander. I hope the worthless son of a ***** has a massive, painful heart attack and suffers a horrific death.

I'm not a fan of Denny McLain.

Peralta with a big 2-out, 3 run double.

8-0, bottom 5.

8-1 tonight.

Justin Verlander: 21 wins.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Tigers come back from being down 8-1. Raburn hits a 2-run shot to tie in the 9th, then after a Delmon strikeout, Cabrera hits the walk-off bomb to win it.

This one might have killed the White Sox.

This just proves that baseball is too farking long. Didn't even notice they were playing until the TV mentioned it was 8-5. Late October is stupid for baseball especially with the football juggernaut. They should be starting the playoffs after Labor Day.
