Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Yeah. The White Sox swung the bat for the first time on the 18th pitch of the game. We're four batters in. I'll give you one good guess where the first three hitters are.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

What in the hell? This kid's head is not in the game.

EDIT: For those of you not watching, bases loaded, 1 out. A tap to the mound, Oliver turns and throws out the batter at 1st. Doesn't try to start a 1-2-3 double play. Hell, he doesn't even look towards the plate. Just turns and throws to first.

EDIT II: He bailed himself out one batter later, but this is the major leagues. That was inexcusable, rookie or no rookie.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Run scores because Oliver craps his pants and doesn't go for the double play. Head in the game, kid.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

For the 2nd straight start, he's **** lucky he's not down 4-0 after 1.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Hey, jigglelips. If you're in the front row, put the *ing phone down and catch the ball. Or at least make sure it doesn't spill the beer. Your d-baggery just bit you in the ***.

And Boesch's ball had some hellacious english on it.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Well, it was just a matter of time before that happened.

WELLS!!!

4-3 White Sox, top 5

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Ryan Raburn continues to bring a bat to home plate. The baseball world is surprised by this.

Ryan Raburn strikes out. The baseball world is not surprised by this.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

I don't know, but "Charlie Furbush" has to be the best baseball name out there. Did he make it up?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Decent first inning, but it could have been a lot better. We could have KO'd the Sox there. A 2-spot plus a big pitch total is nice, but we left the bases juiced.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

If we could hit with RISP, we'd be no worse than up 6-0. We've left 8 on base in 4 innings. This does not bode well, Verlander or otherwise.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Nice play by Verlander. At least this time he didn't hit Cabrera in the nuts with the throw to first, like he did in his no-no.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 1 - The Lou Whitaker version

Jackson triples to center to start the 9th. The way we've been hitting tonight, we've got a coin flip chance at best of getting him home.
