Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Our offensive line is going to be much improved this season.

You still won't convince me that a college team could ever beat the Lions.

Could a high school team ever beat a D-I football team? Heck no!

Do you know how to read?

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

I understand what you are saying. There still is no way that a college team is better than a pro team.

No, apparently you don't.

I do, and fully agree.

The point is that no matter how much better the Lion offensive line is vs. Georgia, it's still not better than the average NFL defensive line. So Matthew (and remember, he likes Matthew) is going to see a lot of the ground up tires at Ford field for a couple of years.

Just the same way that Jon Kitna did the last few years and every quarterback before him since the 80s.

But that's OK, Stafford can get it done because he'll have better guys blocking for him than he did in college!!11!1!11!

Stupid.

The Lions have waived Daniel Bullocks. The only player they have left from their 2006 draft class is Ernie Sims.

This really isn't news, waived/injured means that he has a injury and if he goes unclaimed by the other 31 teams he will remain in the organization but on the injured reserve list for this season.

They do moves like that becuase players placed on injured reserve who dont pass through waivers before the final week of the preseason still count against the 80 man limit.

Ive only once seen a player, who has been waived/injured get claimed, and the was CB Don Carey going from the Browns to Jags this camp. Even then league insiders complained that the Jaguars did that, and that it was unethical.

I could see Bullocks claimed since his injury doesnt seem to be season ending, but he would still be due his contract he signed as a second round pick.

To replace him, undrafted Boston College linebacker Robert Francois was signed.

Bullocks will clear waivers and be put on IR. no loss here, he wasnt going to play anyways.

Keith Smith cut

No big deal, except for this tidbit: From 2002-2006, over 5 drafts, the Lions made 39 picks. Only Ernie Sims remains on the roster.

Don't forget that Drew Stanton has spent more time in recovery than on the side lines. As he will for quite a bit of this upcoming season. While he's played well, I think is Detroit days are numbered again....

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

I agree. I'd rather have Brooks Bollinger as a #3 QB, simply because he's actually seen time under center in a regular season game.

We don't believe in majik. Sorry.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

My question-

sacks to interceptions

Which will be more?

For sure, both will be a LOT higher than TD's.

Too bad for Dante that he has crushed glass carpeting. While he would have had just a few less sacks, at least his interceptions might be less....

If Dante is in the game, I think the equation question should be:

fumbles >/< INT+Sacks
