Denver at North Dakota - Saturday 10/30/10

Re: Denver at North Dakota - Saturday 10/30/10

The skater was looking straight down at the puck and he got hit very hard with a hit that was led with the shoulder. IMHO it was a penalty because of the injury, that being said I can completely understand why it would be called a charging, just don't agree with how severe they called the penalty. Best of luck to Jesse to a quick on speedy recovery.

thanks for the clarification. Never want to see a guy get hurt. Wishing Jesse a quick and speedy recovery.

CC and Minnesota knotted at 1 in the 1st

Led with his elbow to Jesse's head as he was looking down to dish the puck off, another UND player was trailing Jesse that he was trying to shed and knew was there. He did not see Malone in front of him. Malone could have held up with the flying elbow.

Re: Denver at North Dakota - Saturday 10/30/10

sounds like they may have created the penalty based on the injury...is that true?

IMHO, I felt that it was led with the shoulder, but because the player had his head down looking at the puck the shoulder made contact with the head. He did have a fairly good head of steam going and did skate a decent length to make the hit, the reason I don't like the call though is because if the players' head was up the penalty never would have been called. Just one of the calls that could go either way IMO.

Maybe you Sioux fans who are trying to minimize this incident should let your minds drift back to how you felt last year when Genoway got hurt.

Re: Denver at North Dakota - Saturday 10/30/10

Malone skated straight in from the blue line into the corner to line Jesse up, pretty bush league in my book.

That was a completely different situation, and it is quite classless to bring up an injury that could have ended a young mans' career. In that situation Genoway was facing the boards with his head down and the player skated all the way down the ice, this was completely different in every way shape and form. The player wasn't facing the boards and the player didn't skate all the way down the ice. I can understand the frustration on the injury, but uncalled for.

I only saw one replay, but it looked like a clear 5:00 penalty to me. I think the dq portion came about due to the injury.

Re: Denver at North Dakota - Saturday 10/30/10

OMG, Shore scores and it's a PP goal. Will wonders never cease.

Re: Denver at North Dakota - Saturday 10/30/10

Saw several replays, pretty clear where Malone came from.

I just want to know what happened. I'll make judgements based on what happened later. As I said, you never want to see a player get hurt, clean hit or not.
