Denver at North Dakota - Friday 1/29/10

Re: Denver at North Dakota - Friday 1/29/10

Hak cost UND the game by starting a cardboard cut-out in goal. Too important a game to do that. Even if refs don't blow the goalie interference call DU still wins 2-1.

Nobody knows how this game ends up if that call is made correctly. Nobody can say for sure.

Congrats on the Shutout that wasn't a shutout.

Good game, Sioux somehow need to figure out how to score.

Need to win tomorrow without question.

You hate to see the outcome of an important game decided or even significantly influenced by a bad call.

On the other hand, the Sioux have had terrible problems lately converting on the power play and tonight was no exception, including a long 5X3.

/walks into the thread....looks around....sees no one is watching....steals two points and leaves\
And now let's read what the critics are saying about tonight's big game, shall we?

"North Dakota? My daughter's softball team could beat that buncha no-talent stiffs. If the Sioux play like that another time or two they'll clinch "away" ice for the playoffs in no time." :D --OmahaSioux1--:D

"I thought George Gwozdecky's coaching methods tonight were particularly inspired. Not only that, but I think he remains the favorite to win a gold medal in Ice Dancing in Vancouver." ;) --SiouxFanInSeattle--;)

:p Channeling Marcel Marceau, coach Dave Hakstol refused to speak after the big game, but did hold up a single digit indicating the position he believes the Pioneers occupy in every meaningful poll and in his heart.:p
Dead on.:D

Hate to admit it...but I agree. That was a horrible call. I'll take it...but it was a game changer.

Chevy with 6 shutouts now this season and had 33 saves tonight.

I assume Ryder will be in for Brookwell tomorrow on d and if Jesse Martin can't go, Nate Dewhurst will take his spot.

Nodaks had 9 PPs and couldn't convert, that could be the real difference.

It's one thing to make a bad call and another to uphold that call after review. *** did they see that none of us did?

Did they review it? I'll have to rewind and check that out. You really have to wonder if thats the case.

Gwoz - need to stop taking penalties. Pleased with the win. It took until the 3rd period to get the PP working. Jesse Martin very doubtful for tomorrow and possibly next weekend. He has an upper body injury that will heal but Gwoz doubts he will play tomorrow.

Unless I'm having a senior moment, I thought I saw them go over to the monitors. There was no contact, nothing, and yet on review they upheld the call. 'Course the NFL issued an "oops" to the Vikings this week, just a little late.
