Denver at North Dakota: Big Rivalry, Big Weekend

Re: Denver at North Dakota: Big Rivalry, Big Weekend

Knight could possibly play this weekend.
Hextall will not play.
Genoway will not play.

DU Sweeps. Chambers Rulez.

Good to see you're kissing butt again.:)

From the LetsGoDU comments section:

DG -- You're killing me, man. I never wrote "DU's afraid to face UAA again" ... Simply stating DU doesn't match up well with UAA, and if the Pios get UAA in the first round, just like last year, it's going to take a lot out of them to get to the Final Five and then make an NCAA run. You've seen it before -- championship-caliber teams running out of gas because of the rugged WCHA playoffs. Quit attributing phony quotes from me or you'll no longer be my favorite blog. -- MC

I have a problem with people who claim officials Jon Campion, Derek Shepard, and Todd Anderson are human. These three individuals are obviously sub-human and watchers of child pornography dvds which they claim to have gotten from Happy. While they argue the content of the dvds was unknown to them because the dvds were in "Hoop Dreams" and "Bring It" cases, the evidence of their guilt is overwhelming and calling them human is dispicable.

That is one thing I can't argue about at all. My favorite thing to watch when Anderson refs is when he loses his cool. Obviously, he had someone else take the psych profile portion of the qualification exam.

Game notes: https://www.nmnathletics.com//pdf4/...875300&SPSID=90195&SPID=10862&DB_OEM_ID=18600

My prediction: 120 minutes of nasty defensive hockey complete with a march and a flying bird.

High Ankle Sprain.

I thought Knight had the high ankle sprain? All I ever saw about Hextall was a lower body injury, although I seem to recall the radio announcers speculating it was a knee?

Re: Denver at North Dakota: Big Rivalry, Big Weekend

I bet he has his head on swivel when the Sioux play the Huskies on the 12th and 13th of February.

If Davidson is in the lineup when they play st. cloud you know something will be going down.

Re: Denver at North Dakota: Big Rivalry, Big Weekend

so, each time the Sioux are on TV on a Friday, I have to work, then when they're not, I don't have to work. It sucks. I have to work Friday, but will be checking my phone like I always do...

Sioux get 3/4 points

Go Fighting Sioux!

Denver is a one newspaper town and DU hockey probably rates somewhere around 20th in the sports pecking order in the sports section.

To make matters worse the parent company of the Denver Post filed for bankruptcy in January so you always worry about cost cutting. The Gophers lost their beat writer last year and their local coverage has nosedived.

Chambers has been covering DU hockey for 12 plus years and does a great job. He plays beer league hockey and his son plays youth hockey. Can't ask for more than that.

Grand Forks is a 3 newspaper town: Grand Forks Herald, Dakota Student (campus news), and the pennysaver which is also very reliable for groundbreaking and accurate information.

That it did, my brother, that it did. I was laughing very much, and when I saw the address, I lost it. :D
Speaking of that Dirty, did you get rid of your place over on Brent Blows Goats For Loose Change Way or did you keep it for a summer place?

I think the Dakota Student is up there with the Pennysaver...my opinion.

Sioux take 3/4 points

I, for one, am grateful for any coverage of college hockey, even if Chambers has recently gone a little over the top with repect to the "fighting" angle between these two programs.

Chambers doesn't cover anything! He beats on his chest about how great DU is and how bad everyone else is. That's not coverage. That's drivel. He should be forced to walk down Colfax with no pants on.

Hint: "Fighting" Sioux. :D

Anyone who watches WCHA hockey notices that UND games just seem to always have an "edge" to them. When UND falls behind by a couple of goals you just know the rough stuff is coming. Its just the style of play of Hakstol's teams.

DU prepares for the rough stuff and how they handle it usually determines whether the get blown out or come away with a victory.

I would say that this is the first time in many years where DU has a decided talent advantage over the Sioux. Usually UND is the far superior team, and DU has to outwork, outhustle or out-think the Sioux to have any chance of winning.

Like there's something wrong with that!
