Late to the party here but I see less of Bernie in Reade's accusation and much more of Vlady Putin driving the bus here. If the woman worships Putin, and Putin has dedicated his existence to destabilizing elections, it all fits. Particularly the part about how she's leaving out juuuust enough details on exact time and place so that Biden can't defend himself unlike the idiotic accusation from Christine O'Donnell's niece that was debunked an hour later. I also find the request for Biden to open up his archives for evidence of a sexual assault claim to be really fishy. In fact it makes no sense.

It isnt Putin, it is literally people connected to Bernie (formerly) that have been spreading this crap since it was clear Bernie would lose. And not the 20 somethings still on mommy and daddy's die, the people he tasked with spreading his message in his name.

Putin is behind a lot of what the Twitterverse does, but it is much different than this type of stuff and almost no one with any real connection to anyone is ever involved (on the Left obviously since the GOP is under his spell completely) it is usually spread by the unwashed masses. Tara Reade was the Bernie People's Ace in the Hole...their **ahem** Trump Card in a close race. That is why the mouthpieces started leaking it a couple days after Super Tuesday to try and fix the damage.

Putin would have been leaking this before the South Carolina Primary because he is much better at Electioneering than these people are. He also would have have moved on to something else by now because it is having almost zero effect. It isnt dividing the Left (any more than it already was) and it isnt hurting Joe Nationally at all. (if anything it is helping him) This thing wreaks of people who don't get how modern elections work, not some KGB-esque infiltration. Look at how well Putin played the country in Trump's favor...compare it to this and they dont even compare.

Put it this way, if this is Putin, then he is way off his game.

I don't know either way, but I do know that sometimes you don't always hit 800-foot grand slams to win the world series.

It's called not having Roger Stone, who knew exactly how to hit Franken and has been doing things like that since Nixon. I'm surprised Trump didn't pardon him already.

Exactly. This is part of an effort to see what sticks. Recall in 2016 the Trump/Putin campaign tried a lot of things out. Once "but her emailz" caught fire with the lazy mainstream press they rode that horse to the finish line but it wasn't the only thing they were trying. So from Russia's perspective get Reade out there, see if there's anybody else willing to come forward to discredit Biden AFTER he's secured the nomination (maximum impact in terms of causing disarray) and watch the sparks fly. It helps even more to portray her as a disgruntled Sanders supporter (she claims she supported Marianne Williamson first). Or get Biden to open up his papers and have scandal hungry journalists pick through it and manufacture something in an attempt to make a name for themselves. What Pelosi said is correct. With Chump, all roads lead to Putin.

Sorry dont buy it...but honestly it doesnt matter because either the Trump-Style Sandernistas planned to nail him with this or they fell for this. Either way they are failing at this miserably because they are completely inept.

The only thing about that article that was true was the media is in fact chock full of Never Trumpers. They are good at drawing attention to themselves. The idea though that they have any influence in the Democratic party is laughable. That any of the Dems from John Bel Edwards all the way to Bernie Sanders would trust George Conway is absurd. If he wants to vote Dem in order to turf Chump, then welcome aboard and keep blasting him. I know Sanders supporters want to consider themselves the smartest people in the room but everyone realizes that the minute a John Kasich like stiff is the GOP nominee they're gone.

After Chump, can the Republicans ever go back to a Kasich-like nominee though? I'm not sure the base will buy it.

That base wasn't a part of the GOP til recently anyways. They wanted to kill Bush I when he was in office.

I assume the same guys screaming about CIA conspiracies now were doing it back when the ex-CIA chief was Prez. The hardcore Reaganistas never liked him.

I don't think so, which is why these Never Trumpers have nowhere to go and therefore have little leverage with the Dems. I expect subsequent GOP nominees to be even worse than Chump - Jim Jordan or Louis Goehmert types. At the end of the day Trump is just a con artist at heart. He doesn't believe half the sh it he's spewing out. Its just a means to an end. We're getting a bunch of True Believers for a while after Trump is gone unless one of his dimwit kids tries to sneak in there.

Some people are confusing Biden's genuinely friendly personality with weakness. I don't think that's the case. Just like he and Sanders can figure out their areas of agreement without being at each other's throats I think a guy like Biden will hear out Never Trumpers but that's not the same as expecting him to start advocating for tax cuts for the rich.

Is the consensus here not to believe Tara Reade? I think it’s possible to believe Tara Reade, and still vote for Biden come November. I mean, I am. I don’t find it that hard to square personally. I’m also a cis white guy, so I have 0 experiences that allow me to relate to what Tara Reade experienced with Biden. Ultimately, Biden >>>> Trump or any Republican, even being a cis white man who can’t keep his hands to himself. He wasn’t my first choice, or even my fifth, but apparently the party I’m apart of, including the vast majority of African-Americans, want Biden as their nominee. Until I’m instructed, maybe socially shamed, not to vote for him, I assume our party think he’s our best chance to win come November. A third party vote this election is a worthless protest.

I’m not dismissing her, not sure what consensus is.

I’m just commenting on her comment about dropping out when there’s been no official investigation and dump has about 67 claims that no one cares about
