Democratic Challengers 10: If we stop fighting Nazis, the world will die.

Re: Democratic Challengers 10: If we stop fighting Nazis, the world will die.

The RCP aggregates have Bernie doing the best in Michigan, 2nd in WI, and 2nd in PA. Those were the states I was referring to, not really sure the others are swing states other than maybe NC where Sanders is also 2nd.

The polling is months out of date for two of those states and in Michigan/WI the latest polls are from January, which probably doesn't reflect Biden sinking from then to now.

If you go back and look at my original post you'll see it was a question. You and the rest of the chorus were (and remain) free to answer it. I'll ask it again: what are any of you doing to help your candidate win this primary?

#1: I don't have a single preferred candidate at this point.
#2: I have a job and won't drop everything to go to New Hampshire to tell Democrats they are idiots if they don't support Bernie.

Re: Democratic Challengers 10: If we stop fighting Nazis, the world will die.

Yeah and the numbers don't really support the narrative you were proposing in the last post where Hillary lost because of Bernie to Trump voters. It's irrelevant because Obama ran a much better campaign that generated higher turnout numbers? But it is relevant in 2016 because Hillary ran a garbage one? That doesn't seem like the most consistent logic...

Luckily we're still in the phase where we can pick the guy who can actually win and not worry about that particular hypothetical. It's a message board and we can hypothesize all we want I guess but I don't really see much utility in doing so.

But...the numbers do support it, even with the caveats I stated. Clinton waged a bad campaign, yes, and it's possible those Sanders supporters who flipped to Trump may have voted for her if she had chosen to show up in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania more than she did - or at all. We'll obviously never know. Either way, they played a significant role in the election, and I'm thinking they will again. If Sanders wins, yes, this message that took me two minutes to type is a moot point, and then we'll find out if his turnout mirrors Obama's or Clinton's.

Also, isn't hypothesizing one of the only things anyone does on a message board? What's the utility of telling people they're ****ing *******s?

I have a job.

I assume I'll be going to PA, which is the closest purple to me. If VA is on the cusp we've already won. If MD is in doubt we've already lost. WV is hopeless. So, PA.

I didn't do it in 2016 and we lost PA and I have felt sh-tty ever since.

No, they don't, they support the idea that the election was embarrassingly close because she didn't generate nearly the level of turnout that Obama did in 2008. At which point any number of things could've flipped a few thousand votes here or there in a few different swing states besides the votes of "Bernie Bros". Again, you can't argue that it mattered in 2016 but didn't in 2008 and pretend that you're making a consistent argument.

It's never too late.

It's likely a good thing socialism didn't come to America in the 19th century because it was still in its infancy as a theory and it had a lot of serious problems. And Americans, as clever as we are at other things, are not good political innovators.

This way we got Europe to do our R&D for us and now in good American tradition we can steal their IP.

Good point. I hadn’t thought of it that way previously.

Re: Democratic Challengers 10: If we stop fighting Nazis, the world will die.

I'm not saying anything clever, folks. Put it this way: if Texas is in play on Election Night then the Dems have a landslide. If CA is in play then the GOP and Putin have a landslide.

If VA is in play we've won, in the same way that if MD is in play we've lost.

No **** if Texas is in play it's a landslide.

Back to your original statement. Hillary won VA. how does VA being in play mean we've won?

That's reality bud.

So, you're gonna whine and pout with the rest of the Bernie Bros, instead of working to make sure the Democratic nominee gets every vote they possibly can?

Biitch and cry, "I ain't voting for that clown", loud and often, along with all the rest of the immature losers?

I have three jobs. And a tumor in my head that makes me disabled. And neuropathy that causes intense pain in my legs. Somehow I still manage to find time to volunteer.

Don't think for a moment the rhetoric I use in this looney bin remotely resembles what I say on the campaign trail when I'm talking with voters...

It's not exact of course. Just offering up some data to suggest that no one is a slam dunk right now to beat Trump (as bizarre as that sounds) and we shouldn't assume even Bernie is our best chance. He might well be but there's a lot ahead of us.

This assumes though that Bernie would be more inspiring enough to overcome those that sat home last time. Will there be Hillary voters as childish this time around if Bernie gets the nod that also stay home in measurable numbers? Will the GOP Hate Machine ratchet up their propaganda x10? Will Bernie inspire even more knuckle-draggers to get out and vote?

I think these are legit questions to ask and is not me bagging on Bernie.

I've been working to get the best candidate nominated to beat Trump which is probably more than what you're doing.

If Virginia is in play we've already lost. If Maryland is in play some 11-year old with a good Internet connection has hacked the election system.
