Democratic Challengers 10: If we stop fighting Nazis, the world will die.

Re: Democratic Challengers 10: If we stop fighting Nazis, the world will die.

I think it's more like 1 in 50, myself. I recognize I have a limited sample size of about 5 full-on Bernie supporters in my acquaintance or better sphere, but 2 of them literally pull the "(other Democrat) is a (racist/fascist/cop)" based on who is polling well at the time or in the news the most.

Well I know about 50 and none of them are like that, so my anecdotal sample is zero percent.

I know you don't believe this particular brand of Bernie Bro exists, but when it's prevalent enough for the Onion to satirize it, you really should believe us that it's a thing.

The Onion is just another Plute loving rag out to stop the Kepler's of the world from spreading the Gospel of Saint Bernard! Wake up Sheeple!!!

Re: Democratic Challengers 10: If we stop fighting Nazis, the world will die.

I already answered that question but we all know reading comprehension isn't exactly well taught at your alma mater.

If you don't vote for the candidate with the best chance of beating Trump and someone else ends up losing to Trump you're just as much a part of the problem bud!

The question FTLT asked wasn't in regard to voting to select Trump's opponent, but rather about pulling the lever for (D) even if Sanders isn't the nominee. I might have missed it but I don't think that question has been answered.

I'm not a fan of Bernie and if gets the nod I can't be there to campaign for him. But my absentee ballot will without question include his name if he's nominated.

Re: Democratic Challengers 10: If we stop fighting Nazis, the world will die.

If you idiots (both of you) keep at it we're gonna lose again, and you're going to look pretty clever continuing your preening match over the last sardine tin in the death camp.

If me fighting trix is the difference then good lord this election is gonna be close  ;)

(I dont care about where Warren got her money and I dont really care if Bernie puts out his full medical records)

Re: Democratic Challengers 10: If we stop fighting Nazis, the world will die.

Maybe. I think Clinton was a unique candidate in a tragically awful way. I think history has shown that part of winning elections is nominating someone who doesn’t also activate the other side’s base

This may not be possible with the Echo Chamber instantly turning any Dem nominee into the Great Satan, and the conservative audience being so vapid and psychotic that they are immediately triggered.

But I think you're right that they had 25 years to churn the orcs about Hillary, whereas they will have just a few months with Tammy Baldwin or Vermin Supreme or whoever we anoint at the brokered convention.

Good thing we have polls of how they'd perform in swing states then in which Sanders fares even more favorably.

Yeah that tweet by the twit doesnt make it sound any better no matter how much you pretend it does.

My advice is we should all behave as if it is, because activism is nothing but the sum of millions of tiny little acts.

And remember, "you play better in your suit."

Re: Democratic Challengers 10: If we stop fighting Nazis, the world will die.

Narrative? It’s just numbers. There are a hundred reasons Clinton lost, including the one where Sanders supporters in key battleground states switched to Trump.
Yeah and the numbers don't really support the narrative you were proposing in the last post where Hillary lost because of Bernie to Trump voters.
It’s irrelevant that 25% of Clinton supporters voted McCain in 2008, as they were than eclipsed by the ridiculous turnout Obama managed to achieve.
It's irrelevant because Obama ran a much better campaign that generated higher turnout numbers? But it is relevant in 2016 because Hillary ran a garbage one? That doesn't seem like the most consistent logic...

I wondered aloud if this was going to matter as much this time around IF Sanders doesn’t win the nomination.
Luckily we're still in the phase where we can pick the guy who can actually win and not worry about that particular hypothetical. It's a message board and we can hypothesize all we want I guess but I don't really see much utility in doing so.

Doesn't make what sound better? The media is being completely disingenuous about this just like they were in 2008 about birtherism. But she's a white Bernie bro so what does she know? :D

I answered by saying, it literally doesn't matter, because it doesn't other than to some people on the internet who won't be satisfied with my answer no matter what it is.

You may disagree with the states referenced, I used this to pick: https://electoralvotemap.com/2020-battleground-states/

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-general/wisconsin/

Looks fairly up for grabs at this point.

Re: Democratic Challengers 10: If we stop fighting Nazis, the world will die.

Your theory is a Centrist has the best chance of beating Dump. I'm sorry if I have misrepresented you. I was using you as a model Bloodthirsty Conservadem or whatever it is. I would also have accepted Rover.

That isnt true at all...otherwise I wouldnt give money to non-centrists ;) (I have never donated to a Centrist) In 2016 I said running as a socialist would be a tough road to hoe (because old people think Socialism is the devil!!1!!) but even if I felt that was still the case (it all depends on if the youth vote) since they would call Tulsi Gabbard a socialist if she won I would rather go with it. It is like when your gf accuses you of cheating when you didnt...might as well now you already got in trouble for it ;)

I think there are lots of winnable votes by the right (not Right) Centrist and they can win that way. I think we can run full Progressive and maybe win that way. Progressive **might** be more risky but it also has the best chance at the biggest reward. With the stupidity of our electorate though I couldnt make an honest guess how this will all play out let alone theorize. All I want is the losers to endorse right away and get their base on board. No hemming and hawing...no BS. If Warren drops out then the second she does she endorses someone. If Bernie loses he endorses the winner. Either that or I want a brokered convention because at least then I will be entertained while Rome falls.

trix said when I asked him months ago that he would vote for the D...well actually he said Biden but still.

Well you seem to think we cant...so I guess it was projection ;)

If you go back and look at my original post you'll see it was a question. You and the rest of the chorus were (and remain) free to answer it. I'll ask it again: what are any of you doing to help your candidate win this primary?
