Don't think it was Mr. Saito. I'm talking about 50's or 60's. But anything vaguely "sumoish" has been used by more than one Asian guy ('course in those days they were "oriental.") There was even a clown who called himself Yokozuna. Yokozuna is the top rank of sumo and there have only been 70 of them in 400 years!
Found this on Mitsu Arakawa. As I said, after the bell rang he always started a phony baloney dohyo-iri ceremony. And it's interesting one of his favorite methods of cheating was throwing salt into the eyes of opponents. Tossing salt is part of the buildup to a sumo match, and symbolically purifies the ring.

Cliff Chadderton, the man know as "Mr. Veteran" for more than 40 years of tireless work on behalf of veterans and amputees, has passed away at age 94.
The War Amps, of which Chadderton held the position of chief executive officer until 2009, announced his death on its website.
Chadderton, the Fort William, Ont., born and Winnipeg raised Second World War veteran, lost part of his leg while commanding a company of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles. He joined the War Amps when he returned from the war in 1944 and transformed it from a veterans` organization to an institution that represented all amputees, especially children.
Chadderton founded the Child Amputee (CHAMP) Programs which has helped thousands of child amputees with the cost of artificial limbs and education.

JOHANNESBURG—Following the death of former South African president and civil rights leader Nelson Mandela today at the age of 95, sources confirmed that the revered humanitarian has become the first politician in recorded history to actually be missed. “Today we lost not only an international hero and a symbol of the resilient human spirit, but also the very first political figure ever who people actively wish was still alive and affecting world affairs,” said political historian Wallace M. Delaney of Columbia University, adding that Mandela will long be remembered for enduring 27 years in prison in the fight against apartheid, championing equality across the globe, and standing alone as the only world leader whose passing left the international community grief-stricken and feeling a palpable void in their lives. “Certainly people have felt a sense of sorrow at the deaths of politicians in the past, but Nelson Mandela’s death is the only one on record that people everywhere unanimously agree has left the world notably worse off. I miss him, we all miss him—and that’s entirely unprecedented in the world of politics.” Delaney added that he could not predict who might be the second politician to be missed by humanity, but confirmed there were no viable candidates anywhere out there right now.
