"Psychic" Sylvia Browne. She spent a life time ripping off grieving, credulous people. I don't know who is worse, Browne or her chief co-enabler Montel Williams. Sadly, there's an endless supply of victims and of people willing to exploit them. Still, good riddance.

"Harmless fun?" Ask this Browne victim if she thinks it's fun.

She should have known this was coming.
Nope. She said she was going to die at age 88...She should have known this was coming.
One of the greats of Canadian wrestling, right up there with Whipper Billy Watson, Lord Athol Layton and Tiger Jeet Singh. Met them all working Sunday night wrestling at Maple Leaf Gardens.
Sad news...remember him fondly. His brother Paul, didn't he go by the handle "Butcher" Vachon? Seem to recall Mad Dog and Butcher.
Phrasing. She should have known this was coming.
Phrasing!I knew this was coming.![]()
The KQRS morning show was doing a segment on Vachon this morning. They even played some audio from a live commercial he did for Chicago Lakes liquor (an old Minneapolis liquor store at the corner of Chicago and Lake). The commercial was funny just because he never broke the staccato character voice while reading the ad.Now there's a legend! His heyday in the AWA put to shame anyone trying to playing things up in Vince's abomination of a wrestling federation. Love his segments building up to a major match back in those days. But, alas, that's a bygone era of wrestling we aren't likely to see again.
Yah, Paul went by "Butcher". And then there was Vivian Vachon. They were known as the first family of wrestling for awhile.
Nice to see a professional wrestler who actually lives a long life too!

Also brings back memories of Doctor X and the "figure-four-leglock"
Dr. X...AKA "The Destroyer" Dick Beyer...is another huge legend not only here, but also in Japan. I could talk about wrestling from back in the day all day long.![]()
Anybody remember the Bruiser and the Crusher? IIRC the Bruiser was Dick Aflis (sp) and he played briefly for the Packers. I sat behind those two once on a flight out of Minneapolis. Very big boys.
Of course. Bruiser died back in the early 90s of a heart attack while lifting weights. Crusher just died in 2005.
Bruiser died from internal bleeding in his esophagus (blood vessel broke) after weight lifting. He was only 62... and would be 84 now. He attended Purdue and then played for the Packers before wrestling. Came from Lafayette, Ind. 6'1' 261. He made his fame wrestling every Thursday night in Detroit.
