I spent some time interviewing Bud in his office in the APC building in Houston. APC stands for "Adams Petroleum Company." His was the biggest office I've ever seen--the entire lower floor of the building. You could have had a hockey game in there. Nice enough guy. We spent most of our time talking about Culver Military Academy and an extreme diet I was on at the time. One of the key figures in the creation of the AFL. The Oilers were among the early powerhouses of the league with Bear castoff quarterback George Blanda filling the sky with TD passes. An era ends.

Agreed-I get depressed enough on this thread when i see many famous people who are my age dead. It is even worse to read that the government is going to take a portion of whatever money I have saved(after being taxed) and may have left when I die-and try to take that away also. Let's leave that for another depressing thread and concentrate on interments here.

Boo freaking Woo!! once you get past the first Billion, does it really matter to you about how much money you get to keep?

Does anyone really trust the government to exercise careful stewardship with the money it confiscates in taxes?

Bill Sharman, 87, the “other” guard on the great Celtics teams of the late ‘50s and early ‘60s. One of the greatest free throw shooters ever – trademark was a little wiggle of the wrists before the shot, which inevitably was “nothin’ but net”. Long since forgiven for going over to the dark side (the Lakers).
