Was he he one that went on a bigoted, drunken rant at a show that included Nazi salutes and all? Sometimes I wonder if booze and drugs make a person that way, or show us who they truly are. My guess is that it is the complicated answer of “bit of both.”

Was he doing it to mock bigots, or enrage his fans? Intent/motive are tough to gauge in those situations. I always had the impression that they were rather progressive leaning, based upon the lyrics to the few songs of theirs that I’ve heard over the years.

He did throw a nutty at some bread festival or something they were playing when everyone started throwing toast at the band. There's video of it somewhere.

I missed the post about Wernicke’s, it is entirely possible it could cause such an outburst.

Wernicke's alone causes confusion, coordination, and balance issues. If it is comorbid with Korsakoff syndrome (which it usually is in serious alcoholics), then you add in the amnesia, pink elephants, and erratic behavior.

didn't know about the elephants. Knew about the shaking and delirium.
 
I suspect it hasn't been posted since Jim is still sleeping, but Mary Peltola's husband died "in a plane accident"

edit: jeeze. This was almost a full day ago.
 
Minnie Mapco. A bikini-clad mannequin in a convertible with PSALM 46:10 emblazoned on the sides. All on top of a huge pole so you could see it from I94 in North MPLS.

I never actually read what was painted on that thing, nor did I ever look into the company behind it. Now I know, and an iconic landmark is no more.
