My father met Jim Brown and considered him one of the two greatest natural athletes he ever met.

The other was Jim Thorpe.

And the greatest lacrosse player ever.

Hate to admit it but i am old enough to have seen him play. And your remark is totally spot on. Only followed the sport on a casual basis but when you see someone dominate the game and score 4 goals in about 15 minutes, you remember it.

Only man enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame (1995)*not sure what took so long for that*, National Lacrosse Hall of Fame (1984) and the Professional Football Hall of Fame (1971).

Andy Rourke.

Best known as the bass player for The Smiths. One of the best bass players in the modern rock era.

Yeah, Rome was maybe his best role. Criminally overlooked series.

Agree. It was a soap opera for young males, but it was really fun and very pretty. (I've heard what killed it was how expensive it was to make.)

I loved the portrayal of how the middle class lived in Rome. It was something you just don't get from epics. There was a lot of currentism (IRL he would have been just brutal to his servants and to women, even as a very good man) but it wasn't braindead like say Gladiator.
