Read on FB and was in disbelief- never got to meet but after years of being on here that seems impossible. The stories were something. and the phrases associated. I am so sorry. Deflated.
Life is not fair.

And agree it is touching to see the community on here come together to mourn, even those of us who have drifted off. Lots of fond memories.

I too was in disbelief when I saw the news on Facebook.

Got to meet MNS a few times, mostly on tInvasions. Great guy. As others have noted, awesome wit/humor. Sad to think he's gone, but comforting to see the outpouring of respect and fond memories from our community.

Thank you for posting that. This is still pretty raw for me. MNS was a great guy. In many ways he was one of my "godfathers" for being a North Dakota hockey fan. While I grew up in the state and followed the team fairly closely, it wasn't until I actually went to UND that I started developing an over-the-top passion for North Dakota hockey, and MNS was a big part of that. My freshman year, MNS and my suitemate were good friends, and they invited me to a road trip to Duluth (with Dirty, I believe). We had a lot of fun on that trip, despite the team being less than stellar, and MNS had all sorts of great one-liners, as many of you are all aware. We sat together at all the home games that season, along with a few other road trips that were such a blast. I learned a lot from MNS about both hockey and life that season, and while we were never really close friends, I always enjoyed seeing his classic personality and sense of humor come through when reading his posts on here. MNS, you will be missed.

Well, fuck the news in this thread. I’ve had so little time on the site lately, and then come to read about MNS. I had the pleasure of meeting him twice, once scoring a goal off of his shin at a posters’ game. He will be sincerely missed.
